Vol 2: MN and WI Athletes Gearing Up for a Big Club Season

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Like many, I am excited for the start of the club season. Players are also gearing up for the start of club season and the changes it can bring with it. Some have gone to new clubs, others will play with new teammates, many have new coaches, and some with compete with players that have played with for years. However, no matter what, all are ready to learn and showcase all the growth they have had the past several months since the last club season ended. After missing club season last year due to injury, she fought her way back and returned stronger and more determined than ever as she worked her way on to the varsity court where she turned herself into a key contributor. Her movement was swift, she transitioned quickly, and stayed involved in every play. She also took big, aggressive swings, making her a offensive threat that couldn't be ignored. She is an explosive pin who brings dynamic energy, athleticism, and grit to the court. Wirkus showed a ton of growth this year, especially with her control and the range in her swings. In addition to her power, she also utilized well-placed tips, roll shots, and smart off-speed attacks. The result was fantastic as the sophomore was the go to attacker on her team with 278 kills on the season. She will take big, aggressive swings when the opportunity arises, showing not only power but also confidence at the net. However, where she really excels is in her ability to score when the set is not perfect or if the defense has adjusted. Larkin will successfully mix it up and throw down smart tips and well-placed off-speed shots to keep opponents guessing. Conroy learned quickly and demonstrated the ability to make smart decisions under pressure and set clean, hittable balls to her teammates. Conroy has a high ceiling for growth, and her potential to be a standout setter is irrefutable. She is a freshman right side pin hitter with tremendous potential. Working hard on the varsity court this fall, Burns has a dominant presence at the net being 6'3" which allows her to challenge opposing teams hitters and blockers. She also possesses a strong, controlled swing herself that led to many scoring opportunities.
