<p>The Division 2 state semifinal was by far the most competitive pair of matches we've seen so far. We saw our 1st 5-set match of the state tournament between Sauk Prairie and Luxemburg-Casco. The Grafton vs. Waupaca match went to four sets. On top of the championship-caliber volleyball, the crowd was incredible! They announced that this crowd broke records for a semifinal match at the Resch. </p>

<p><strong>Grafton won 25-18, 25-19, 26-28, 25-21</strong></p>

<p>Grafton came out firing from the very first point. They played a well-rounded and refined game with numerous offensive weapons and a balanced defense. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='388454' first='Paige' last='Proefrock'] led the charge for Grafton in all six rotations. She was a rock for her team, leading with 21 kills and 13 digs. Libero [player_tooltip player_id='486993' first='Abby' last='Barthelemy'] was a standout defender, making incredible saves against Waupaca's powerhouse offense. Her serve receive was also superb. [player_tooltip player_id='532385' first='Grace' last='Tilley'], [player_tooltip player_id='771608' first='Addison' last='Lempke'], and Brooke Vanden Berg were all key contributors on offense as well. Setter Ava Dotson had a great match with 22 assists, 6 digs, and an ace.</p>

<p>Waupaca put up a massive battle. Six-rotation Creighton commit [player_tooltip player_id='277430' first='Peyton' last='Carlson'] was not going down without a fight, and she put up 27 kills and 14 digs during the match. Hailey Bechard also played at a very high level, especially from the defensive side of the game. </p>

<p><strong>Sauk Prairie won 25-22, 25-19, 24-26, 17-25, 15-7</strong></p>

<p>Sauk Prairie came out dominant in this match. [player_tooltip player_id='388467' first='Mallory' last='Hartwig'] was an absolute force in every aspect of the game. Her offense was explosive, and she was confident and level-headed throughout the match. Setter and right side [player_tooltip player_id='504459' first='Alaina' last='Kraemer'] was smart and efficient. She had 9 kills, 31 assists, and 11 digs. [player_tooltip player_id='705728' first='Ella' last='Logterman'] was another standout player with 5 blocks and 10 kills. Sauk Prairie fired on all cylinders from libero [player_tooltip player_id='566274' first='Mackenna' last='Murphy'] to setter Leah Allen and middle [player_tooltip player_id='828296' first='Lila' last='Shadewald']. </p>

<p>Luxemburg-Casco battled back despite being down in the match 0-2. This is a team that knows how to dig deep and play tough. [player_tooltip player_id='459898' first='Aubrey' last='Frey'] took an incredible 84 swings during the match. She had 27 kills, 12 digs, 2 blocks, and an ace. Lefty rightside Claire Schlies was also a standout performer, as was setter [player_tooltip player_id='284079' first='Alayna' last='Deprez'].</p>
