In case you missed it, we've just refreshed our Nebraska 2027 rankings to help usher in the new year. Our post-release coverage debuted with several state tournament standouts who used their postseason success as a launch pad for their rankings rise. Let's add a few more ascending stars to the mix.

It's never too late to be a stock riser, and these juniors should be gaining traction in the recruiting sphere.

Lincoln Southeast notched a postseason berth for the first time since 2017, giving us a new group of Lincoln-area stock risers to watch. Williams had already started her ascent with [program_tooltip program_id='428717' first='Nebraska' last='ONE'] 16 Black and logged invaluable experience on the GJNC stage. That was a precursor to Williams' 300-plus kill campaign with the Knights while sparring against Class A's best. This change-up hitter has thrived in all three frontcourt positions and has put together quite a highlight tape for college recruiters.

Donnelly is perhaps an unsung hero of Cross County's 2025 state tournament berth. While much of the Cougar offense operated on the pins, Donnelly provided much-needed balance and efficiency in the middle. She finished second on the team with a 0.232 hitting efficiency while nearly doubling her kill output from 2024. This is a ready-made 'M1' who even showcased her serving prowess during postseason play. Nebraska's small-town scene is always dishing out quality middle blockers.

We've seen Martinsen excel in the state tournament arena before, and her production with Elgin Public/Pope John hasn't wavered since then. In fact, this hard-hitting attacker has elevated her game to produce over 250 kills as a junior. Martinsen has embraced the expanded leadership responsibilities of being an upperclassman and remains a mainstay in EPJJ's back row. Her influence will only grow as a senior, making Martinsen a compelling prospect among Nebraska's rural 2027s.

Columbus Lakeview leaned on its balance and cohesion en route to a Class B tournament berth. Helms was a key cog in that effort with 2.5 kills per set and the third-best dig total on the Viking ledger. This multi-talented attacker began her ascent with Lightning 17-1, a stacked club team comprised of Columbus Lakeview standout athletes. That crossover has helped unlock Helms' full potential.

How could we forget about Mitchell? The high-flying pin hitter had her fingerprints all over Amherst's Class D1 championship triumph. Mitchell dramatically elevated her scoring averages as a junior, yielding 3.6 kills per set on a 0.249 clip. Best of all, Amherst's offensive leader was at her best when the Broncos needed her most. In every round of the team's stay in Lincoln, Mitchell compiled double-digit kill totals and was the team's go-to in first-ball situations. That kind of clutch production is ready-made for the next level.

Otto's ranking emergence was overdue. She posted a phenomenal sophomore season with over 200 total kills, but her 2025 season was yet another step forward for Raymond Central's offensive juggernaut. The junior pin hitter upped her averages across the board and racked up her kills at a nearly 0.300 clip. Otto has the reach and physicality to score over the top of opposing blockers, leading to some indefensible in-system swings. Raymond Central's winning campaign is a sign of things to come for Otto and her Mustang teammates.

Kenesaw's roster is stacked with players boasting monster numbers from the most recent high school season. Schukei joined the club with a whopping 4.6 kills per set on a team-high 0.276 hitting percentage. However, termination stats are the only spot where Schukei led the charge. She also anchored the defense with 3.3 digs per set and was eager to handle the passing volume dished out by opposing teams. Schukei's do-everything attitude was a big part of Kenesaw's 23-8 mark, and the Blue Devils are looking for more in 2026.
