Today is Christmas Day, Hannukah, Kwanzaa and every other major holiday wrapped up into a volleyball calendar that is unmatched in the recruiting world for guys like me. The years of work in the gym when no one is watching starts to pay off today for volleyball players in the class of ‘28. Today, we're predicting the top attackers that should come off the board in the state of Indiana, including a couple that might surprise the average reader.

Already in possession of a bronze medal from GJNCs last summer, Audrey is the offensive leader of the top 16s team in the state of Indiana. Fully skilled in all parts of the game, with a volleyball IQ that is off the charts, Audrey's innate ability to make the right play at the right time regardless of the score or the situation sets her apart from many other primary-passing outsides in this class.

A springy and athletically active right side for KiVA, Annabelle is one of TWO Freels kids on this list. You might not hear much about her on this side of the Ohio River, but to earn a spot among the best Louisville has to offer is saying something to her volleyball acuity, high-end athleticism and overall understanding of how to score points in bunches for her squad. She has the size, speed and jumping ability to make waves at the next level.

Not long ago, Amaya was a long, lean and athletic attacker that was raw from a training perspective. Fast-forward a couple of years, and Miss Zander is now one of the highest leapers in this class, if not THE highest. She's also developed her all-around game to be able to pass, defend, attack from anywhere and score points at will with an athletic smoothness that just isn't seen in this class from the pin position.

If you're trying to be a D1 outside hitter, first you need to LOOK like a D1 outside hitter. Elle has the size, strength, jumping ability and volleyball IQ to do things that shorter outsides just can't do, all while having the build and experience to understand and sustain an open level of play throughout the remainder of her career. Yes, she's playing up a year for PHP's 17-1 squad (the top 17s team in the state, by the way), but the advancement of her skill set has been meteoric since she first attended our Freshman Stock Up Showcase back in the late summer of 2024.

Speaking of playing up a year, Jada is currently the top attacker for the Boiler Juniors 17-1 squad, and has every point-scoring shot in the book, despite her size. With the ability to be everything from a three-rotation DS to a full-time libero to a full-time six-rotation outside at any level, Jada's from a family filled with volleyball studs that can do more than any other OH recruit in this class and state.

When Jordyn first arrived as a transfer from Tennessee, she was an enigma—-what to do about this big kid who's brand new to the training and pace of Indiana volleyball. Now, she's the M1 for the best 16s team in Indiana, and has the size, strength and skill set to show for it. Of the middles being recruited in Indiana, you can't argue with the fact that she's 6'4” and moves better than most in this class, regardless of position.

As part of the two-time defending 4A state champs, Paityn is a strong and skilled middle that can be an M1 or an M2 at any school looking for a plug-and-play starter for the fall of ‘28. Her first exposure to us was at the PD Freshman Stock Up Showcase back in late summer of ‘24, and has done nothing but get stronger and better in the two years since. With great vision, good size and shoulder strength that hits a heavy ball, Miss Lauck should be one of the first middles off of the board for this class.

The second of two members of the Freels clan, Madeline is more known for her M2 abilities, with court vision, a smart and repeatable attacking style, and a high volleyball IQ. With long arms making her look taller than she is, defense comes easy to her, and will slow down a ton of balls for her defenders to fill their own stat sheets with. On the attack, Madeline is a high-and-hard type of two-footed attacker, with a vision that isn't seen much in this class. Folks north of Evansville might not know her as well, but know this—-it's REALLY hard to crack a lineup at KiVA, let alone start for one of their top open-level teams.

Abbie's power and overall brute strength adds to a 6' build that will make her indispensable for the next level. She's been training with the best at Munciana, and is a clear favorite for being the first attacker in this class to come off the board from Munciana. She was also the top hitting percentage player in the state last fall, regardless of class. The efficiency is there, the strength is there, and she's got 6' size to go with outstanding athleticism. In this author's humble opinion, Abbie will be an absolute steal for any program who has her.

I've written about Miss Manos before, and I'll say it again—-it's not often that a kid over 6' attends Providence and plays for Union. She easily sticks out as one of the biggest and best middles in this class from southern Indiana, and has the stats and video to back that statement up. Broad shoulders make blocking simple for her, and long legs allow her to defend from pin to pin with ease. She's also in possession of a cannon for a right shoulder, and that heavy ball she hits is very hard to defend.
