About Annabelle
Expert Analysis
Kyp Harasymowycz | Prep Dig Scout
More of a right side than a middle at the moment, Annabelle is a springy, terminating oppo with a whip for a right arm and a tough out when blocking. She’s a three-rotation right side for her KiVA squad, but is slowly developing into the type of kid that needs to stay in the lineup for all six rotations. Very few right-handed right sides exist in this class, let alone ones that can score points at will for their respective squads. Miss Freels is one of those kids that can easily turn into a plug-and-play right side at the next level.

Traveling from Evansville to Louisville for club is further than one might think (almost two hours on a good day). Yet that’s the level of commitment and excellence that Annabelle brings to the court. She’s more of a right side at the moment, and can hit any angle in any tempo sent her way. She’s part of a solid group moving up the ranks at Evansville North, and should be more than capable of earning that commitment this coming summer.

More of a hybrid middle that plays a bunch of right side, Annabelle is an explosive attacker that plays bigger than her frame. Already averaging over three kills per set for Evansville North, she’s really refined her all-around game by spending last spring on KiVA’s 15 Red squad. Lengthy and springy, Miss Freels can play middle for a small college or right side for a midsized school looking for a multi-positional stud.

Freels made a big impact in the front row for the Huskies this past season. Freels takes big swings from the right side and reacts quickly if balls come back across the net. Freels can tip balls to the shallow court to keep defenses honest. Freels gets excited on the court and that positive energy seems to spread to her teammates.
