Summer NIT Preview - Pins Ready to Dominate the Competition

The Summer NIT will feature talent at every position, but pin hitters often play a major role in determining the outcome of a match. Whether they're terminating balls in key moments, handling serve receive, contributing defensively, or finding ways to score out of system, these athletes impact the game in a variety of ways. As teams prepare to face some of the region's top competition, these pin hitters possess the skill, versatility, and competitive mindset needed to make a difference on both sides of the ball. Here are some of the pins we'll be keeping a close eye on at Summer NIT.    Abigail is excited for the opportunity to compete at Summer NIT, viewing the tournament as a chance to challenge herself and her team against some of the nation's top competition. She believes the event will help prepare her squad for nationals while providing valuable experience along the way. Abigail tells PrepDig Nevada,   "Earning a spot in the Summer NIT means a lot to me and my team because it gives us an opportunity to compete against some of the best teams in the country"   When her team takes the court, coaches and spectators can expect to see a talented group working together and competing as one unit.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Abigail's Personal Goals</h3>   "A personal goal that I have for myself going into NIT is to have fun and support my teammates anyway possible. I am hoping to show college coaches and fans that I love to play volleyball with my team and that even at the highest levels my team and I can compete." As the first Top Flight team to receive an invitation to the event, she believes the opportunity speaks volumes about the growth the program has experienced in a short amount of time. Jamie tells PrepDig Nevada,   "It means so much because we are the first Top Flight team to be invited to NIT"   She also sees the tournament as a chance to gain exposure while competing against some of the top teams in the country. When her team takes the court, coaches and spectators can expect to see "a true team" that plays for one another and embraces the challenge of high-level competition.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading text-gray-700">Jamie's Personal Goal</h3>   One personal goal I have is to step in my non-technical role for the team better than I have any time before this season! NIT is a tournament for high level teams and if I am able to embody my non-technical role then I know it will help my team drastically, and this will show college coaches that I am more than just a player and can help my team in more ways than just skill! One thing she believes will stand out to coaches and spectators is the connection her team shares. She views the invitation as validation of the countless hours her team has invested throughout the season and an opportunity to test themselves against elite competition. Brixton tells PrepDig Nevada,   "It shows that all of our hard work and time in the gym is paying off." She sees the invitation as something her team has earned through its dedication and competitive spirit. Zarah tells PrepDig Nevada,   "We have worked hard to fight and compete with other highly ranked teams and we deserve to be there."   When her team takes the court, coaches and spectators can expect to see a hardworking and competitive group that communicates well and consistently encourages one another both on and off the court.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Zarah's Personal Goal</h3>   "My goal is to stay positive and energetic, even if we are down a couple points. I am planning to showcase my ability to pass, hit, serve, and everything in between."   Zarah plays OH for Vegas Aces 15 REN. Kimber tells PrepDig Nevada,   "All of our hard work has paid off and this is our chance to prove ourselves." I am always trying to be the best version of myself as a player." Simone tells PrepDig Nevada,   "It feels like we have a lot more to offer because we have the chemistry and knowledge to be on this team."   When her team takes the court, coaches and spectators can expect strong chemistry, high volleyball IQ, and a group that embraces both learning and competing at a high level.   <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Simone's Personal Goal</h3>   "My goal is to be aggressive no matter what, encourage my teammates when we are up and down, be my spirit making self, and be gritty and put my body on the floor for every ball. What I am hoping to show college coaches, fans, or opponents is my competitive edge, my mental strength, and my energy in every condition." Henley views Summer NIT as an opportunity to see the results of her team's hard work while competing against some of the nation's top competition. She believes earning an invitation is a testament to the dedication her team has shown throughout the season and a chance to continue preparing for Nationals in July. Henley tells PrepDig Nevada,   "It's a great opportunity to challenge ourselves, grow as players, represent our program, and prepare for Nationals."
