Sunset League: Two Returning Players From Every Team to Watch

Some teams have even produced CIF champions in the past.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For the Sunset League in girls volleyball this year, the race for the league title is sure to be an intense one as always. Her versatility on either side of the net is what makes her so formidable against any team. One thing that Coady does well for her team is that she helps take a lot of pressure off teammate [player_tooltip player_id='545271' first='Ella' last='Olson']. Her hustle courtesy of her beach volleyball training helps keeps plays going and her jumping ability when swinging at the ball is unreal. IF Hartwell is not in the libero jersey, it's due to the fact that her coaches wants her to pass in all six rotations. She also makes an argument for one of the best liberos in the league and perhaps in California. Her freshman year at Marina was one to remember, having tough serving and setting the offense perfectly. In addition, Enriquez' defensive plays are worth noting, sprawling out to keep the ball in play. Despite her not being as tall, Dajnowiec fears no block and her jumping ability when swinging at the ball is really impressive. Just like Dajnowiec, Dennis' jumping ability at the net is a must, especially in a league like the Sunset League. Kompaniez was the leading scorer for the Chargers at Queens of the Court during their run through the quarterfinals, as her strong arm was on full display. De Jong can really close the block well at the net and her timing and precision are definitely up to par as well. With Ellie Esko and Addison Williams having graduated, Lucky-Mitchell is sure to see an increase in kills, as her heavy arm will look to turn Huntington Beach back into a powerhouse like it was in years past. She could also see some time at right side, as Huntington Beach will need all the firepower they can in order to keep up with the rest of the teams. She was also a force at the service line and passed well when need be, as her volleyball future is bright despite only being a sophomore. Every time her team needed a pass or a big dig, Beal was more often than not there to make it happen.
