Updated Wisconsin 2027 Rankings: Who’s Going D1?

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Prep Dig Class of 2027 rankings have been updated.&nbsp; We'll be sifting through various athletes who will be heading into their senior season and today we will take a look at the D1 commits.&nbsp; There are currently 21 athletes that have given their verbal at the Division 1 level.&nbsp; For athletes who are aspiring to play at the collegiate level, take a look at where these Wisconsin athletes are going.&nbsp; This always helps when there is a connection to schools and having Wisconsin at these schools is a little note athletes can put in an email to college coaches.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Going Coastal - “East Coastal”</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Taking a look at the list of athletes, there are some who will be playing in the ACC or will be going to the East Coast.&nbsp; [player_tooltip player_id='345274' first='Lauren' last='Sprague'] (Notre Dame), [player_tooltip player_id='435874' first='Addison' last='Kelenic'] (Wake Forest), and [player_tooltip player_id='564276' first='Lauren' last='Tisler'] (Boston College) will be going to the ACC.&nbsp; Sprague is the top ranked prospect in the Class of 2027 with her ability to serve receive, pass, and score in a variety of ways.&nbsp; Another Wisconsin prospect at Notre Dame she will join is Anna Bjork from Oconomowoc/[program_tooltip program_id='428672' first='Milwaukee' last='Sting'].&nbsp; Kelenic follows another Sting and even a Catholic Memorial alum in Elena Dragani who enters her senior year as a Demon Deacon.&nbsp; [player_tooltip player_id='435889' first='Gigi' last='Chasco'] and [player_tooltip player_id='800623' first='Ashley' last='Ray'] will make the trip from Wisconsin to Ft. Myers, Florida to play for Florida Gulf Coast. Other East Coast commits will be [player_tooltip player_id='497647' first='Charlotte' last='Hayes'] who is heading to Marist in New York and [player_tooltip player_id='434920' first='Sierra' last='Hoeft'] has committed to New Hampshire.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Green Bay Continues Building In-State Roster</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On the 2026 Green Bay roster, 13 of the 18 athletes come from Wisconsin.&nbsp; They continue that trend with their Class of 2027 commits bringing in [player_tooltip player_id='510426' first='Ellisyn' last='Shultis'] out of Fond du Lac and [player_tooltip player_id='483665' first='Addison' last='Schmidt'] from Rice Lake.&nbsp; Shultis has been playing for [program_tooltip program_id='428591' first='FC' last='Elite'] where she has shown she can score points at a high level.&nbsp; She has a high contact point where she can also locate the open spots.&nbsp; She is a scorer out of the back court as well. Schmidt is a unique talent where she will also be part of the Green Bay Women's Basketball team.&nbsp; She has been to the state tournament in both sports and will be fun to track when she gets to Green Bay.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Climbing The “Summit” </strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There has been a pattern of Wisconsin athletes who have been heading to the Summit League.
