It's hard to believe we're five weeks into the ride, but here were are.

While teams will decide it on the court, predicting who they will be is a fun exercise, for me, and, hopefully, you. We love rankings!

I'll be lining up teams in the state's second largest class, 4A, each Monday (or Tuesday) throughout the season. Here's how I see it heading into Week 6:

1. Assumption

Make it three weeks in a row for Assumption at No. 1. The defending Class 3A state champions have experienced a seamless transition in moving up. The Knights won their only competition of the last week, sweeping Clinton in MAC action. I've seen them a few times this season, and they're legit. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='694203' first='Belle' last='Cotton'] has collected 207 kills (.265) and added 145 digs in 62 sets. Freshmen [player_tooltip player_id='877691' first='Piper' last='Peterson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='918791' first='Zoe' last='Cinadr'] have combined for 240 kills, Natalie Depoorter has 511 assists, [player_tooltip player_id='1037650' first='Taylor' last='Camarena'] has 66 kills with 44.0 blocks. [player_tooltip player_id='742600' first='Piper' last='Hodge'] has piled up 322 digs.

2. Norwalk

Norwalk moves up one spot to No 2 this week on the strength of its performance at the East-West Showdown this past weekend in Coralville. The Warriors went 3-1 in the event, topping ranked 5A teams in Liberty and Cedar Falls along with Cedar Rapids Kennedy. They came up short against Pleasant Valley. Junior [player_tooltip player_id='560368' first='Elle' last='Hatlevig'], a Michigan State commitment, has performed among the state's best, regardless of class, recording 379 kills (.400) in 67 sets. Senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='493974' first='Hadley' last='Michael'] also has been excellent with a team-high in assists (660), and the second most blocks (47.0) and digs (145). Embry Dupont, [player_tooltip player_id='758781' first='Myla' last='Brown'] and [player_tooltip player_id='730403' first='Delaynee' last='Steele'] have teamed up for 347 kills, and [player_tooltip player_id='809159' first='Reese' last='Heim'] 211 digs.

3. Sioux Center

The Warriors check in at No. 3 this week. They took down Okoboji, 3-1, and swept Estherville Lincoln Central in a Siouxland Conference matches last week. Despite five losses this season, Sioux Center is a formidable bunch continuing to mesh after graduation losses. The setbacks have occurred against strong competition. Facing a strong schedule helped it reach the Class 4A state title match last year. [player_tooltip player_id='816843' first='Maryn' last='Franken'] has collected 198 kills (.321) in 48 sets to go with 129 digs and 29.0 blocks so far this year. [player_tooltip player_id='841522' first='Adison' last='Brantsen'] added 117 kills and picked up a team-best 146 digs. Jorgia VanDeBerg and Stella Hietbrink combined for 139 kills.

4. Western Dubuque

The Bobcats hold at No. 4 after posting a 5-0 week. They took down Waverly-Shell Rock, 3-1, in a mid-week match, and then did the same against Decorah, West Liberty, Mount Vernon and Wapsie Valley at Saturday's Western Dubuque tournament. The Bobcats (24-3) also own wins against Cedar Falls, Indianola, Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Wilton and Wahlert, to name a few. [player_tooltip player_id='493984' first='Kyla' last='Ramler'], an Illinois State commitment, has recorded 268 kills (.285), 157 digs and 31.0 blocks in 71 sets. [player_tooltip player_id='987305' first='Ellie' last='Berning'] and [player_tooltip player_id='942755' first='Lauren' last='Walker'] have combined for 288 kills, Gabbie Demmer has 391 digs, and [player_tooltip player_id='748340' first='Lola' last='Quagliano'] and [player_tooltip player_id='744976' first='Sylvia' last='Kruse'] have teamed up for 624 assists.

5. Clear Creek Amana

The Clippers check in at No. 5 this week at a point in the rankings where a group of teams with similar resumes resides. Clear Creek Amana (22-6) has done good work with wins against Iowa City West and Bettendorf along with 2-1 losses to Liberty and Assumption. It swept Benton in conference action and did the same to the competition at Saturday's Prairie tournament. [player_tooltip player_id='516002' first='Julia' last='Schlarbaum'] and [player_tooltip player_id='493660' first='Bailey' last='Simpson'] have teamed up for 438 kills while standing out though six rotations. [player_tooltip player_id='693879' first='Delaney' last='Vaske'] and [player_tooltip player_id='571219' first='Haydin' last='Wauters'] have 182 kills and 55.0 blocks between them, Payton Curtin has 604 assists and [player_tooltip player_id='902716' first='Kendall' last='Ronnfeldt'] has 235 digs.

6.
