Callie Combs
About Callie
Expert Analysis
Mike Bryant | Prep Dig Scout
Combs has been featured here quite a bit over her varsity and club experience the past few years, and rightfully so. The NC State commit is one of the most complete prospects in Ohio while also being a “do what my team needs” type of athlete. She helped guide Seton to a DI state title in 2024 while leading the Saints offensively as a six-rotation pin. In 2025, her tools are providing a lot of impact throughout the game as she continues to score while also enforcing their first-touch work with her passing and defense. Seton, the top-ranked DI team in Ohio entering the postseason, is unbeaten (22-0, 8-0) after running through tough schedules both in the non-conference and GGCL. They open up district play next week versus Western Hills. Combs is ranked #164.

Combs stays as even keeled as any player on the court no matter what happens. Her athletic genes definitely help as the versatile Combs tries to do whatever it takes to help the Saints win. Her dad Mike is a former baseball player at Bowling Green State University. Combs dug up a number of hard hit balls and took great swipes on the outsides putting balls over and around blocks. She added in a nice jump serve. Combs said taking deep breaths before every single play and relying on experience are keys to success for the Saints.

Combs more than did her fair share helping the Saints the first state championship since 2005 with an astounding 327 kills good for third in the rugged Girls Greater Catholic League. She finds time to play basketball in the winter for the Saints as well, primarily serving a rebounding role. She did hit 10 points in a couple games this past year, helping Seton go 16-8 and finish second at 6-2. Combs already has natural athleticism as her dad Mike played baseball at Bowling Green State University. She’s poised to do that much more in both sports her senior year.

Combs (pictured) did her part to help the deeply talented Saints to the Division I state championship. Combs jumps up and makes big mid-air adjustments to put balls down. The setters put balls to her on the money and she takes care of the rest. She is also a solid six-rotation player that is not afraid to slide to dig up balls.

Finding her way into the top-10, Combs is a new edition to this upper echelon of talent in the 2026 class. Her 2024 season has been elite as she may be the x-factor for Division I Seton with her full-range of tools. Watching her at this stage of her prep career has been fun as she is confident, assertive, and flat out competes while also bringing a lot of focus and stability to the court for the rest of her team. As Seton is 14-2 overall and ranked #1 in the most current Ohio coaches association poll for Division I, Combs is third in the GGCL offensively with a 3.6 k/s average and just shy of 200 kills overall. The North Carolina State commit is also top-five defensively with 175 total digs.
