Premier Volleyball Club has three teams represented in the Open, National and Patriot Divisions. South Central 16 Black will represent the Liberty Division. Midwest Volleyball Power (MVP) Red in the American Division. VCN 16 Elite in the Freedom Division.
Let’s get a closer look at Premier 16 Gold in the Open Division. This team is super talented and many had fantastic prep standouts from the fall season. Here are a few players to keep tabs on:
6’1” Outside Hayden Liebsack Hayden Liebsack 6'1" | OH Bennington | 2026 State #108 Nation NE is a strong, powerful pin hitter who can jump. Liebsack is also a great high jumper for Bennington High School. The outside can hit the cross court shot with authority and also reads the court well to find open areas for tips. She also has a tough jump serve that can rack up aces as well.
Another 6’1” Outside is Addison West Addison West 6'1" | OH Omaha Skutt Catholic | 2026 State #57 Nation NE out of Skutt Catholic in Omaha. She has long levers and can really hit the ball quickly and with power. West also does a great job of mixing up her shots by tipping or hitting a roll shot over or through the block. She is also a very strong passer and defender for her taller frame. West is becoming an outstanding six rotation player.
Libero Kami Drystad is superb when reading opposing hitters. She does a nice job of digging into the middle of the floor so Gold can run their high powered pin hitters. Drystad also has a steady presence when in serve receive as well. She also has a nice jump float that just grazes over the net, making it difficult to receive.
South Central 16 Black has had a fantastic club season so far with a 32-4 record heading into Nationals. They have some huge talent from small schools. They have a really good chance with their height, athleticism and ball control to make a run. Let’s take a look at these athletes:
Jalyn Branson Jalyn Branson 5'9" | OH Shelton | 2026 State NE , a 5’9” Outside hitter from Shelton, shined at the Prep Dig Top 250 Expo in La Vista last December. She does an outstanding job of quickly transitioning and loading to hit. She flies in with explosiveness and a fast arm. She can hit from anywhere on the floor as well.
Middle Blocker 6’1” Reagan Meyers Reagan Meyers 6'2" | MB Superior | 2027 NE has long levers and can really block well. She does a nice job of finding ball setter, ball hitter. She has a quick arm and can deliver a quick tempo or hit a shot down the back court line. Her ability to get up and hit over the block in some cases, makes her hard to stop.
Kyla Griess Kyla Griess 5'6" | DS/L Sutton | 2026 State NE Black’s Libero is so consistent and steady in the back row. She takes good angles on the ball and read’s hitters well. Griess also runs through the ball well to keep balls from falling in the middle of the floor.
Midwest Volleyball Power out of Sioux City will be trying to make a run in the National Division.
5’7” Outside hitter Jaylee Jackson Jaylee Jackson 5'6" | OH Sioux City East | 2026 State IA has a lot of power behind her and does a fantastic job of reaching high to get on top of the ball. She is explosive and can power through blocks. She plays much bigger than 5 ‘7″.
Sammy Kimbell Sammy Kimbell RS Dakota Valley | 2026 State IA a 5’10” Outside or Opposite hitter can hurt you down the line from either pin. She has a lot of power and when she hits a higher line shot it is hard to defend. During several matches if a libero was playing left back defense they would get a facial or have a hard driven hit above the waist from Kimbell which was hard to dig. Love her athleticism!
VCN 16 Elite will be represented in the Freedom Division. Here is a look at some players to keep on your radar!
5’9” Outside hitter Brooklyn Stehlik Brooklyn Stehlik 5'9" | OH Platteview | 2026 State NE has a nice swing from the pin. She tallied 156 kills in her sophomore season for the Platteview Trojans. She has brought that same energy and excitement on the pin for Elite this club season. Her go to is a cross court shot between the block, but she can swing down the line as well. Stehlik does a nice job from the opposite pin as well and can hit nice cross court shots that way as well. She has enough power too to hit high hands and tool off blocks.
Right side hitter Tessa Scheer Tessa Scheer 5'11" | RS Grand Island Northwest | 2026 State NE from Grand Island Northwest had 139 kills in her sophomore season for the Lady Vikings. The 5’10” Scheer has a fast arm and long levers. She is aggressive when swinging, but also makes smart shots when needed. I love how she flies to the ball. She also has a great jump serve that she really drives making it hard to receive.
The 16’s will be a fun age division to keep an eye on in Las Vegas with so many talented teams in all divisions. The Great Plains Region teams should top quality competition for any region. See you in Las Vegas!
