<p>The high school volleyball season continues to progress at full pace in Texas as district play is underway for most of the teams all around the Lone Star State and just like that, we made it to October.</p>

<p>There will be a lot of action on the first day of the month, this Tuesday, October 1, with hundreds of matches taking place in the state, some of which are very promising ones, reuniting teams that look poised to have excellent seasons.</p>

<p>We picked three of them to feature as you prepare for an intense day of high school action in Texas:</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Hightower vs. Ridge Point - 5:30 PM @ Fort Bend Hightower HS</h2>

<p>In the Houston area, the District 21 encounter between Hightower and Ridge Point is a good option. The Hightower Hurricanes are having a positive season, with 17 wins and one loss, but couldn't find their rhythm in district play yet, ranking sixth with two wins and three losses. Senior outside hitter Mckenna Henderson (156 kills, 140 digs, 255 passes, 46 aces), senior right side Faviour Agholor (127 kills, 33 blocks), senior setter Naomi Robinson (307 assists, 76 digs, 26 aces), junior middle Ta'niyah Johnson (109 kills, 29 blocks) and junior libero [player_tooltip player_id='580002' first='Christine' last='Knowles'] (232 digs, 315 passes) are important players in the team.</p>

<p>The Ridge Point Panthers have a 25-10 win record for the season and are first in the district, with an undefeated campaign of five victories. Senior outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='212725' first='Kennedi' last='Rogers'] (395 kills, 310 digs, 383 passes, 34 aces) has been stellar for them this season. Other key players are junior right side [player_tooltip player_id='197468' first='Jayden' last='Robinson'] (215 kills, 169 digs, 90 blocks, 228 assists), junior middle [player_tooltip player_id='356124' first='Taylor' last='Johnson'] (125 kills, 112 blocks), junior setter [player_tooltip player_id='579861' first='Madelyn' last='Johnson'] (495 assists, 152 digs, 23 aces) and senior libero [player_tooltip player_id='225530' first='Madison' last='Flores'] (368 digs, 577 passes).</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">McAllen Memorial vs. Sharyland - 6:00 PM @ McAllen Memorial HS</h2>

<p>In the McAllen area, two of the strong teams in District 31, McAllen Memorial and Sharyland, will meet. The McAllen Memorial Mustangs have 21 wins and eight losses overall, with their five wins and three losses in district play putting them in fourth place. Senior middle Karly Bazan (244 kills, 50 blocks), junior right side [player_tooltip player_id='540553' first='Ana' last='Davila'] (243 kills, 24 blocks), sophomore outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='573584' first='Larae' last='Jones'] (148 kills, 211 digs, 271 passes, 25 aces), sophomore setter [player_tooltip player_id='630655' first='Jozlin' last='Rodriguez'] (608 assists, 168 digs, 25 aces) and junior libero [player_tooltip player_id='340360' first='Juliet' last='Trevino'] (328 digs, 335 passes, 39 aces) form the core of the team.</p>

<p>The Sharyland Rattlers have an excellent campaign, with 29 wins and three losses, and rank second in the district with seven wins and one loss. Senior outside hitter Kenisha Martinez (344 kills, 320 digs, 308 passes), sophomore outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='443037' first='Pamela' last='Pena'] (251 kills, 253 digs, 245 passes, 41 aces), senior setter/right side [player_tooltip player_id='515002' first='Kassandra' last='De La Garza'] (156 kills, 438 assists, 221 digs, 70 aces), freshman setter Jayleen Berlanga (287 assists, 95 digs, 23 aces) and sophomore libero Ivanna Cantu (151 digs, 289 passes) have all been contributing to the team's success this season.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Midlothian Heritage vs. Midlothian - 6:30 PM @ Midlothian Heritage HS</h2>

<p>In Dallas, the regional battle between Midlothian Heritage and Midlothian in District 15 is one to watch. The Midlothian Heritage Jaguars have an even season record of 18 wins and 18 losses, but have been dominant in district play, sitting at the top of the standings with five victories. Senior outside hitter Johanna Teixeira (351 kills, 228 digs, 497 passes, 38 aces), sophomore outside hitter Claire Moody (248 kills, 111 digs, 159 passes, 38 aces), senior middle Maycee Goerig (148 kills, 41 blocks), senior libero Maddie Parrish (269 digs, 387 passes, 36 aces) and senior setter Addison Howie (465 assists, 182 digs, 50 aces) are some of their standouts. </p>
