. Teams who can only put up one block against Kiera will find that ball bouncing on their side of the floor. She appears automatic against one person blocks.
There are two skills about Kiera that remain hidden because she does not see a lot of time in the back row. The first, because Bishop O’Connell and even Metro run 6/2’s she does not get a lot of opportunity to attack in the back row. The second, she doesn’t get to show off her serve.
She did get the opportunity to play back row against St. Johns and was unstoppable. Her serves are bullets but she has a tendency to crash her serves into the net or sail them out of bounds. She had 5 aces, five service errors but scored 11 points with her 16 serves against St. Johns. Her back row spikes that rocketed over the net never returned.
Kiera has a quiet intensity to succeed. She is second on the Knights in blocking, second in hitting percentage at .403 and third in kills. At 6’1″ she gets excellent arm extension.

Last year she played for Annandale in the National District. She dominated the District winning the MVP award as a frosh. This year she chose to join her Metro 15 teammate, setter

are doing most of the damage Kiera is quietly making her contributions felt.
She is third on the team in kills and second in blocks. At 6’1″ she can extend her arms high above the net to shut down many left side attacks. On occasion she swings from the left side to spell Nadia or Macie. Her swing is just as potent from the left side.
Kiera provides a good alternative at the pins and prevents teams from keying on the left sides. With only one blocker up the kill becomes automatic. And with a shorter right side the result is a no contest kill. A player to watch as her game matures and becomes more dynamic.

finding her for the kill. The two were club teammates for Metro 15 so good communication exists there. Kiera can hit both right and left side. At 6’1 she brings good height for the pins stringing together 9 blocks for the tournament and rejecting a number of other spikes from the opponents left side hitter. Her passing needs to gain more consistency to play a six rotation left side. She brings a strong serve that takes a downward trajectory as it crosses the net. A solid player you want on the court.

Last year Kiera won the Player of the Year award in the National District for Annandale. The Atoms finished second in the National District. The National District may be one of the weakest Districts in Northern Virginia. In the Regional Playoffs Annadale was swept by Alexandria City. Kiera was the offensive punch for the Atoms. Not a lot of recognition followed.
This season she will transfer to Bishop O’Connell. The Knights are loaded with pins this coming year. Kiera will stand out as part of that load. While she may not lead the team in Kills or win the MVP in the WCAC she will test her skills against some of the best players in the DMV area. She will also join her Metro 15 teammates

It is not unusual for a frosh to earn a spot on the first team for her District. However, getting selected as the MVP is rare. Kiera stood out as the offensive presence for her Annandale high school team that finished second in their division. She clearly stood out as the most dominate player in their District.
It appears she has grown a couple inches since last year to reach 6’1. Her approach jump hits 9’10”. For Annandale she hit mostly left side. For Metro she bangs the ball from the right side. Either side she strikes the ball with the kind of velocity you expect from an MVP.
Kierra bumped up two spots in our 2029 rankings, from #10 to #8. Her Metro team will play in the Open in Junior Nationals.
