Last year the Knights beat Flint Hill and Paul VI during the regular season. Both matches went five. Carolyn Maria Carolyn Maria 6'1" | S/RS Bishop O'Connell | 2029 State VA was injured for the WCAC and VISAA playoffs and the Knights lost both rematches, winning only one set.

They have restocked this year with Kiera Jordan Kiera Jordan 6'1" | RS/OH Bishop O'Connell | 2029 State VA , Claire Kennedy Claire Kennedy DS/L Bishop O'Connell | 2029 State VA and Charlotte Nelson Charlotte Nelson 5'7" | DS/L Bishop O'Connell | 2028 State VA coming over from the Metro 15 team. All were teammates of Carolyn Maria Carolyn Maria 6'1" | S/RS Bishop O'Connell | 2029 State VA last year. They also added rookie Nadia Wooten Nadia Wooten 5'11" | OH Bishop O'Connell | 2030 VA who played for Metro 14. Those are quality additions that will help them on offense and defense. Natalie Hobson Natalie Hobson 5'9" | S Bishop O'Connell | 2028 State VA also set for Metro 16 last year after setting for Virginia Elite her previous seasons.

Charlotte will provide needed help in the back row. Her defense is excellent owing to the athleticism she shows in her play. She is not afraid to hit the floor. Many articles have appeared of daughters of professional athletes playing volleyball. Charlotte is part of that group but her father played a more obscure sport in the United States. He played for DC United and captained for the New Zealand national soccer team. Most sports articles focus on football, baseball or basketball professionals.

On the volleyball court Charlotte could hit left side for many high school teams. At 5’7″ she knows her future role is as a back row player. She has committed to Fairfield.

Carlotte moved up from 175 to 125 in the rankings. This will probably shoot up again after she starts the season with Bishop O’Connell. For Metro 15 she doesn’t get a lot of exposure with Jaylin Park Jaylin Park 5'6" | DS/L Georgetown Day | 2028 State VA the primary libero.

Playing for the Knights will provide her that exposure. Few back row players hustle or play defense as well as Charlotte. Her passing needs a little more consistency but playing in the WCAC may cure that. She will face some tough servers in the conference so her passing will be challenged.

Charlotte has committed to Fairfield, which right away tells me I have under estimated her playing abilities. It would not surprise me to see her get another big boost in the rankings after the high school season.
