Allison Howard runs her back row the way a point guard runs an offense: constant talk, constant organization, constant reassurance to the players around her. Her first contact is the foundation of that system. She passes with enough accuracy that her offense can run at full tempo instead of scrambling to adjust, and that reliability is what she wants a coach to notice before anything flashy does.

At USAV Nationals, that consistency showed up in a semifinal against a team’s best hitter, a clean read, a controlled pass, and a set that let her right side finish the point and send Omni to the championship match. She backs that composure with real infrastructure: strength work with Omni’s training staff and regular sessions with a mental performance coach to keep her game steady under pressure. Off the court, she coaches younger athletes at Omni clinics, carries a 3.9 weighted GPA in honors classes, and credits her faith and family for keeping her grounded through all of it.

Allison Howard named Top Performer at PrepDig’s Exposure Tour in Mesa, Arizona.

Allison brought relentless energy to the back row and never let effort drop, even when her team faced momentum swings. She pursued every ball, kept communication high, and motivated her teammates with consistent positivity and leadership.

Allison shared that defense and communication are the foundation of her game. She continues to focus on improving consistency through footwork, platform control, and game speed reps. Her trustworthiness, energy, and team first mindset earned her Top Performer recognition.

Allison stands out by her defensive play alone, especially with how she played during the 6 on 6 portion. She does a great job reading hitters and getting into the proper defensive position early and often. Allison is also excellent at reading off speed shots or balls that deflect off the block. She is able to get her feet to the ball with ease as she has exceptional footwork to go along with how well she can read hitters.

Another part of her game that stood out was her ability to move and transition from defense to coverage back to defense with easy. The ability to transition and have the court awareness to always be in the right spot is something you learn as you get older. For Allison to be able to move her feet and get in long rallies and still always be in the right spot was great to see at a young age. She literally never had to look around to see where she was or take her eyes off the ball, she just trusted her instinct and court awareness to know she was right.

Allison has the footwork and reading capability to be a top level libero for 2029. She also has other attributes that make her the complete libero teams look for. Expect to see a jump in our 2029 rankings when they come out as she really stood out with her game this weekend.
