She especially shined in the matchup against Perry, where her ability to defend the cross-court attack consistently kept balls alive and turned potential kills into opportunities for her team. Her reads are next level—she anticipates where hitters want to go, gets herself into position early, and has the athleticism to make plays even when the ball doesn’t go where expected.

Her coverage is just as intentional. Strawberry isn’t simply reacting to the play; she’s constantly reading what is developing in front of her and putting herself in position to extend rallies. She covers her hitters extremely well and brings the range, quickness, and effort needed to make difficult defensive plays look routine. In serve receive, she stepped up as an anchor for the Huskies and provided a steady first contact against tough serving. She sees the entire floor well and is constantly communicating with her hitters and the players around her, helping organize the back row before the ball ever crosses the net.

Strawberry is one of those liberos you can’t keep out of a rally. Even when opponents try to attack away from her, she finds ways to get involved. Her combination of instincts, athleticism, communication, and relentless pursuit makes her a true playmaker defensively—and she showed that repeatedly throughout the Nike TOC.

Strong serve receive from Kira Strawberry Kira Strawberry 5'7" | DS/L Hamilton | 2027 State AZ helped Hamilton stay in system and gave its offense opportunities to play aggressively. She also made several impressive defensive plays and provided stability in the back row against a Perry team that put significant pressure on Hamilton from behind the service line. She’s got excellent court presence, and never gave up even when things got hard.

Kira played at Hamilton high school and was a rock star for the Huskies. She finished the season with 558 digs which was good for #8 in Arizona and #3 in the 6A conference. She had over 700 balls in serve receive this season and only 7% error rate which is exceptional. She was also named 1st team all region and it was easy to see why based on her performance night in and night out.

Kira is an elite-level, explosive libero with exceptional range and quick-twitch athleticism who consistently changes rallies with defensive plays. When you see her play she displays advanced instincts and first-step acceleration, closing space rapidly. Her range is endless as she is defending both pace, off speed, and sharp angles with control. Even balls outside her body she can get great touches on and keep her team in system.

More importantly, serve receive is a clear separator when it comes to Kira and this class, as she shows poise under pressure with the ability to pass accurately while on the move against high-level serves. She does all of this while maintaining body control in extended rallies and handling high-velocity attacks. Kira is a vocal, high-energy competitor who anchors the backcourt and projects as a high-impact collegiate libero capable of contributing early at the next level.

Kira has truly elevated her game this season as the starting libero for the Huskies. Currently ranked #7 in digs across the 6A conference, she has racked up an impressive 192 digs so far—which makes sense when you watch her sharp court awareness.

She’s had several standout performances, including a gritty showing against Casteel during the House of Payne Tournament, where she notched a remarkable 32 digs in a hard-fought 2-1 match loss. More recently, Kira anchored the back row in a dominant sweep over Sunnyslope, contributing 25 digs to the victory.

With her consistency, leadership, and ability to read the game, Kira is a true force on defense—and there’s no doubt she’ll continue making a major impact as the season progresses.
