For Macy McLaughlin Macy McLaughlin OH/RS Hamilton | 2027 State AZ , being part of Hamilton Volleyball means representing a program with high expectations. As she prepares to finish her senior season, she hopes the players coming behind her continue to embrace those expectations and keep Hamilton among Arizona’s powerhouse programs.

“When I graduate, I hope Hamilton volleyball can continue to be a powerhouse in high school volleyball and that the athletes hold themselves to the highest standards on and off the court,” McLaughlin said. For her, continuing the program’s success means understanding that the standard extends beyond what happens during a match.

But as important as competing and maintaining that tradition are, McLaughlin also wants the younger Huskies to appreciate the experience while they’re living it. Her message to them is to “lean on each other, not take anything for granted, and cherish all the time they have.”

For McLaughlin, that’s the legacy she hopes to leave behind: continue raising the standard, rely on the people beside you, and never lose sight of how special the opportunity is while you have it.

Macy really had a great tournament and has really stepped into the 6 rotation role as an outside hitter. Offensively Macy has always been a great player but is really developing into that 6 rotational pin that coaches love to see. On offense she can hit down the line, hard cross, tool the block, and now as a 6 rotational player has implemented some back row attacks as well. She scored a lot over the weekend with her game and used whatever the defense gave her, whether she used her off speed or her power game.

Besides her offense Macy really did a great job playing great defense and contributed with her serve receive as well. You can tell she was really focused on her technique and form and did really well with her touches to keep her team in system throughout the weekend. It was a great performance by Macy all the way around and she was the leader on her court in most matches. Watching her play made it an easy pick to be one of our NIT standouts!
