Efuru has quickly emerged as one of the most exciting young middle blockers in Nevada thanks to her athleticism, nonstop motor, and ability to impact matches on both sides of the ball. The high-flying Vegas Aces 14 Ren middle consistently finds open spots and corners with her impressive reach while showing the ability to run numerous middle attacks effectively. Whether she is busting through blocks offensively or making herself available throughout long rallies, Efuru’s presence is constantly felt on the court. She helped Vegas Aces 14 Ren secure a national bid at Red Rock Rave and continues to separate herself by putting in extra work during breaks and outside of team practices. As she continues to grow physically and get stronger, there is little doubt she is going to become a major force in the middle.
“My position is middle blocker/middle hitter, and I love being a middle because it gives me a job every play,” Efuru told Prep Dig Nevada. “My biggest strength on the court is my effort and energy. I love competing, chasing a block, hitting, and being involved in plays at the net and beyond.”
Efuru also believes her coachability and willingness to improve continue to help elevate her game.
“I also think one of my strengths is being coachable and always trying to improve and help my teammates while also making good decisions on and off the court,” she shared.
Heading into the UA Next Middle School Camp, Efuru is focused on learning, competing, and continuing to grow as an athlete.
“My goal for the UA Next camp is to learn as much as I can from the coaches and compete against strong players,” she said. “I want to boost my confidence, hitting, blocking, and overall IQ on the court while showing my energy and effort every play. I also want to meet new people, have fun competing, and continue growing as a player and teammate.”
When asked what she hopes coaches notice most about her game, Efuru pointed directly to her competitive drive and work ethic.
“One thing I really want college coaches to notice about my game is how hard I compete and the energy I bring to my team,” she said. “I always stay positive, work hard, and I am very coachable. I want them to see that I am still improving every day and always ready and willing to do whatever it takes to get better and help my team win.”
Off the court, Efuru says her passion for sports extends far beyond volleyball.
“Most people don’t know that I have golfed since I was 5 years old. I also play basketball and love watching sports, especially football, with my family,” she shared. “My favorite player and motivator is Steph Curry, and I learned from him that the key to success is hard work and staying consistent to my craft.”
