Brianna Murray Brianna Murray 5'3" | DS/L Canyon View | 2030 State AZ was one we were excited to watch at Canyon View this season, and she’s quickly shown that she belongs at the varsity level. Her defense is undeniable, and the calm, steady presence she brings to serve receive helps keep her team composed and in system. She reads the court extremely well, plays with great range, and has a way of making difficult defensive plays look routine.

She’s equally impressive when things break down, consistently delivering quality out-of-system balls that give her hitters a real opportunity to score. Murray doesn’t just keep rallies alive—she finds ways to better the ball and put her team in a position to capitalize on the next contact. For a young player, that level of composure and consistency in the back row is impressive. She already looks comfortable taking on a major role for Canyon View, and we have a feeling she’ll be a defensive staple for the program for years to come. We can’t wait to watch her confidence continue to grow and see where her career takes her.

Brianna Murray Brianna Murray 5'3" | DS/L Canyon View | 2030 State AZ stood out for far more than just her defensive ability. She was a natural leader throughout the showcase, constantly encouraging her teammates, celebrating every point, and bringing contagious energy to the court. Her positive presence never wavered, regardless of the score.

Once the whistle blew, though, Brianna’s competitive side took over. Her back-row defense was exceptional, highlighted by outstanding reads, relentless pursuit, and an instinctive ability to position herself in the right place before the ball was even hit. She covered an incredible amount of court and refused to let a ball drop, making difficult plays look routine.

Brianna is the kind of libero you can’t help but watch. Her effort, leadership, and defensive instincts set her apart, and she’s already proving to be one of the most exciting young defenders in the Class of 2030.

Murray and her Arizona Storm team took 3rd place this weekend. On the court she was always covering her hitters and moved very well on the court. She set her hitters up for success in out of system plays with a well developed handset. In serve receive and defense she had a very calm and controlled platform and was never afraid to be scrappy on defense.

She’s a true anchor in the back row — a relentless defender with elite range, tremendous instincts, and the ability to keep plays alive that most players simply can’t reach.

What stands out most is her feel for the game. Brianna makes advanced reads, stays intentional in coverage, and never gives up on a ball. Her serve receive is steady and reliable, giving her team consistency in crucial moments, and she competes with a level of composure that’s rare for someone her age.

Quite honestly, she’s everything you want in a libero and more. Every time we watch her play, it’s easy to forget she’s still only in middle school. Brianna already looks prepared for the next phase of her volleyball career, and we’re excited to continue watching her develop.
