Summer NIT Recap

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Summer NIT has come to a close, the last big tournament before all these teams head off to nationals has come to an end! What an amazing 3 days of volleyball and most importantly AZ really came out to play throughout the course of the 3 days. We appreciate everyone who tagged us in clips, videos, schedules, and we tried to make as many matches as possible!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We will have some individual standout articles coming out later in the week but wanted to get a recap out first thing this week! In those standout articles we will dive more into the individual play of all our athletes but today lets talk about what we saw and some surprises and highlights from this weekend! Congrats to everyone who competed this past weekend and we look forward to seeing everyone at nationals in a few weeks! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">CROWN THEM:</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>BIG SHOUTOUT is in order for AZ Storm 15 Thunder who went out and won the 15's division this weekend! They started the tournament off with a loss to Skyline 15 Royal but got their revenge when it mattered most in the finals beating them 2-0! Standouts in the finals match include libero [player_tooltip player_id='746646' first='Kalenna' last='Thiele'] who was all over the place with her stellar defensive play and serving. On the offensive side of the ball you had [player_tooltip player_id='888723' first='Sloan' last='Kribel'] and [player_tooltip player_id='885088' first='Sahmone' last='Wadsworth'] who did well with their offensive/all around game play. Lastly [player_tooltip player_id='885089' first='Sophia' last='Gregg'] helping run the top level offense with a fast pace throughout the match. They had steady play throughout the tournament from a ton of different girls, and the best part about watching this team is just how deep and talented they are. They don't need any one athlete to win and they can win with their depth and it is fun to watch! Although other teams might have won their division we wanted to highlight the other teams that finished top 8 in the elite division. This the top division at the tournament and we saw a few other AZ teams get into the top 8. I would expect all 10 of these teams to make a deep run when nationals rolls around. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Standouts:</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Now we will have two to three articles going live later this week that will highlight some specific standouts that we were able to see but we won't be able to list all the standouts we saw or heard about from coaches.
