The other returning player is North Oldham lefty right side hitter [player_tooltip player_id='484260' first='Lilah' last='Anthony'].</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Four moved up from 16 White in outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='484327' first='Emily' last='Poteraj'], Manual outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='484427' first='Piper' last='Fulton'], Sacred Heart outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='484325' first='Ava' last='Mineer'] and Assumption setter [player_tooltip player_id='931035' first='Natalie' last='Whitsell']. The team is 7-5 opening up Mideast Power League Play with a 4-1 record and finishing ninth out of 32 teams in the 17 Open Division of the Nike Classic.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>White</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The team is off to a nice 8-5 start including a win over the 17 Red team in the Nike Classic.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The team welcomes back five players off last year's 16 White team. A big returning player is senior outside hitter Eden Harris. Harris moved to Florida and played at North Broward Prep in the fall, but is finishing at Assumption.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Manual junior [player_tooltip player_id='792726' first='Calista' last='Easley'] is the defensive specialist. Faulkner reads hitters well then makes precise, controlled passes to the setter. Faulkner comes out of nowhere to make diving saves and keep plays alive. Faulkner handles both hard-hit balls and tips. Faulkner also does a great job communicating with her teammates. When the team needs a big kill, Mineer can take a big rip on pipe plays. She relentlessly attacks corners making solid mid-air adjustments. Mineer is good on first touches defensively. Holman-Allen knows when to go up for hits. She can hit balls off blockers and rip the seams. She has a good vertical and gets on top of balls to send them hard to the floor. Holman-Allen find different ways to smack balls through blocks for big points. She may get her turn to display that this fall. She makes things happen at all six spots on the court. Krutsinger is sound on defense, reacting quickly to balls in both the front and back rows. Krutsinger only leans when needed, but stays under control to keep plays alive. On offense, Krusinger fades into balls allowing her to move away from blockers then smack or tip balls to the shallow center.
