About Toyosi
Expert Analysis
Guilherme Torres | Prep Dig Scout
Sodipo was with the HJV 15 Elite team that won the division with an undefeated campaign of seven victories. One of the youngest middles in the division, she stood out against older opponents by making great use of her length and athleticism at the net. Her offense was excellent, as Sodipo made the most of her high contact point and showed the ability to hit around blockers in the many sets she was capable of swinging in the middle. Very agile and a tremendous leaper, she moved very well at the net and created problems for opposing hitters with her big block.

Toyosi Sodipo, middle blocker for HJV 15 Elite, is a true transition queen whose speed and efficiency make her a constant threat on the court. Her disciplined footwork allows her to move seamlessly from defense to offense, consistently putting herself in position to make plays. Offensively, Toyosi pairs that movement with an impressive quick swing that keeps her ahead of opposing blockers and creates scoring opportunities before defenses can react. At the net, her combination of timing, athleticism, and vertical leap helps her establish a formidable block that challenges attackers and disrupts offensive flow. Her impact doesn’t stop there—when she steps behind the service line, Toyosi brings the same confidence and aggression, putting pressure on opponents and creating ace opportunities. With her versatility, speed, and relentless energy, she is a difference-maker in every phase of the game for HJV 15 Elite.

Miss Sodipo is a six foot one middle blocker from Tompkins High School who also competes for Houston Juniors Volleyball Club, and she is already proving to be one of the most physically imposing young middles in the state. Many taller athletes at a young age are still learning how to control their speed and balance during high level competition, but Sodipo looks like a unicorn out there because she already moves with advanced coordination and body control. Her long stride and quick first step allow her to travel from pin to pin with impressive efficiency while closing blocks at the net. When a setter establishes her early in an offensive system, defenses are immediately forced to adjust because of the amount of attention she demands in the middle of the court. That kind of presence can instantly create favorable one on one opportunities for outside hitters on the pins. Offensively, she contacts the ball with excellent spacing and control, allowing her to maneuver attacks around or through opposing blocks. Defensively, her vertical leap and long arms allow her to press well over the net and eliminate valuable attacking space for opposing hitters. She has the physical tools and the movement skills that college coaches love to project at the next level. Please help us congratulate Toyosi on being named one of the top players in the Prep Dig Texas Class of 2029 rankings.
