About Brecken

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a highly competitive player with a lot of energy on the court. I stay focused and do whatever it takes to help my team, whether that’s making hustle plays, staying positive, or pushing momentum.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality on the court is to stay calm, focused, and consistent no matter the situation. I try not to get in my head after mistakes and instead focus on the next play. I stay positive and bring energy to my team, especially during tough moments. When I feel pressure building, I reset by taking deep breaths and refocusing on what I can control.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I currently play club volleyball on a Premier-level team, where I compete at a high level year-round. I have earned Student of the Month and Honor Roll recognition in elementary school. I have been homeschooled for 7th and 8th grade, and I continue to focus on both academics and volleyball development.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed strong leadership and teamwork skills through club volleyball. I communicate well on the court, stay positive with my teammates, and work hard to bring energy and support to the team. I’ve also developed discipline and time management through balancing school and volleyball.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A significant challenge I’ve faced is adjusting to a different competitive level this season after previously playing on a higher-level Division 1 team. It has helped me realize that every season is different, and success is about growth, effort, and leadership regardless of division. I’ve learned to stay focused, encourage my teammates, and use the experience as motivation to improve.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am open to different levels of college volleyball programs and am looking for a school that is a good fit both academically and athletically. I want a competitive environment where I can continue to develop as a player and contribute to a team.
