Derby High School has been on our radar a lot lately, especially with the Panthers stockpiling so much talent in the underclassman ranks. Rousseau added to that list after her well-rounded game flourished at last month’s Prep Dig Missouri-Kansas Stock Up Showcase. She can score at the net on either antenna, but some of Rousseau’s best work has been in the ball control phase. Her knack for producing high, controllable first touches helps everyone around her. It’s the ideal set of skills for a showcase, and we expect Rousseau to show the same with Derby.

Rousseau has the versatility to attack from either pin, but it was her work on the right side that really caught my attention. She consistently took quality swings, showing the ability to generate offense from multiple set locations. Just as impressive was her footwork, as she transitioned efficiently off the net and put herself in position for balanced, explosive approaches. That combination of versatility and sound mechanics should make her a valuable option across the front row.

We had Derby High School standouts from nearly every position at Sunday’s Stock Up Showcase. Rousseau carried the torch at the outside hitter spot and built off a successful 2026 club campaign with Shockwave 15 Grey. Her rolls shots and well-placed tips have become a hallmark of her game. As we rolled into last weekend’s team drills, Rousseau grew increasingly comfortable while connecting on some of those finesse kills. We should learn even more about this emerging sophomore as she embarks on another fall season with the Panthers.
