Kok brings valuable experience to the table for both her high school and club teams. Kok plays in a 5-2 system for A.51 and a 6-2 at Sayre. While both systems see the two setters take swings, the 5-2 has one less hitter, which is often a defensive specialist. Kok said facing Premier and some Open level competition in club has helped her learn to run quicker tempos. Kok also brings sound defense. Her passing has improved a good bit during club season. Kok said the team’s overall experience and solid team chemistry will help things turn more fluid on the court.

Kok appears more than ready to take over as the second setter in Sayre’s 6-2 system. She runs the offense with efficiency involving a number of hitters. Kok executes a variety of sets and has a great platform on her passes.

Kok (pictured) played a big role in helping Sayre go 29-9 and make it to the 11th Region Tournament. Kok puts balls at the top of her hitters’ peaks allowing them to take strong swings. She also demonstrates good form on her passes to get the Spartans in a good offensive rhythm. Kok may have had just one kill on the season but has shown she can take quality swings if needed. Kok had 277 assists and 107 digs on the season for the Spartans.

Kok brings a different, yet effective dynamic to the Spartans at setter when she comes in. Kok has learned the hitters quickly and puts balls in their power zones. Kok is also turning into a nice passer for Sayre. Kok said she tries to perform her role to the best of her ability, doing what she can to set up the hitters with what is needed to put balls down.
