About Heelyn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a focused left-handed player that doesn't rattle easy. I go in for a kill but can quickly assess if I need to make adjustments. My teammates depend on me to block and defend the net.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am a big supporter of my team mates, I cheer on and off the court. I like to make my team mates smile and stay upbeat when we are in a tough game. If we get down in points I can usually turn the teams momentum around with a good cheer or words of encouragement.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

My school awards two students a year and I was selected for the 2024-2025 Academic Award for Pre-Algebra.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Over the last few years I have developed strong leadership skills, overcoming adversaries and learning how to stay level headed when you are in a stressful game. I play basketball, volleyball and sand volleyball. All three sports require a different role from me and I have to adapt quickly.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I have been blessed to not have faced any injuries or significant life events. The challenges I have been faced with may be minor to other players going through huge life events, but I have had to overcome team obstacles and challenges that have made me a stronger player and better teammate.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for my home away from home. I would like to attend a larger D1 school where I can get involved in student life, academics and of course sports!
