About Janai

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

As an Outside Hitter, my gameplay style is defined by being an all-around athlete and I enjoy leading by example. I do a little bit of everything: passing in serve-receive, anchoring the left-side block, playing back-row defense, and delivering explosive, high-leverage swings to finish plays.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I am very passionate about volleyball and love to compete. I lead by example with my teammates and try to consistently display sportsmanship during competition.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I enjoy Art, my projects have received several invitations to be displayed at district Art galleries. I also have participated within several Dance clubs and competitions through my years.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I uunderstand the importance of working together as one group to acieve success. My leadership style is to lead by example with my effort in practice and games. I love training to develop my skills. I always encourage volleyball players of any age to practice as often as possible to obtain the results you desire.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I completed a physical and a EKG in my six grade year, unfortunately I was told I could not participate until additional test was completed to further evaluate my condition. Although it was difficult, I came to every practice and every game to cheer my teammates. Once I was finally cleared to play, I made every opportunity feel like it was my last game.

What type of college are you looking for?

I have no specific college I would like to attend. I would like to play at the highest level if that opportunity presents itself but I love volleyball so much I would be willing to play any where that will accept my skill set.
