About Keira

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I feel that I am a quick thinker and aggressive on the court when it comes to playing. I know how to take up a big part of the court. I’m smart when it comes to hitting and I know how to read different types of play. I would also say I have a high IQ when it comes to playing volleyball.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would say I am a focused and positive person. I’m motivated by my mistakes and always try to do better. Always trying to encourage others to do their best.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a student ambassador for Mother McAuley and a recipient of the impact award.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Playing volleyball over the years, has helped me become a better leader which helps me have a positive affect on and off the court. I’ve also learned how to be a better teammate, while mainly focusing on playing for my team not me.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Over 2 years ago, I had to learn a new position. My coach had asked me to change from a middle to an outside, I was nervous but looking forward to the challenge. It was a big change for me because I wasn’t used to serve receive or playing defense. Changing helped me become more of a leader on different parts of the court. Whether that was in back row or front row.
