About Lauren

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

No ball hits the floor; hustle always; good attitude no matter what; put others before yourself; as a libero I must talk and lead my team; serve and pass is how you win games; see the ball early; always listen to coach; alway move your feet; be a good teammate; be determined; work harder then everyone

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Hard work is very important to me. Nothing is given to you, you have to go earn it. Always be kind. Be nice, but don’t let people push you around. Don’t get comfortable in your spot, someone is always looking to take it. Have grit. Be positive with yourself, negative thoughts will just bring you down. Volleyball is very much a mental game, you have to be mentally tough. Have good attitude

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play beach vb and tennis. I have practiced with varsity for tennis since I was a 7th grader. I started playing beach a year ago, and have had lots of success with tournaments, and we went to BVNE east coast nationals and placed 9th overall. I have gotten all a honor roll my whole life. I am in FCA and my faith is very important to me.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I face challenges in sports, but I learn that they are just a small hiccup in my long journey. I have learned that nothing is given to you and you have to earn it. My philosophy is if I am not happy with something, then work harder and harder.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking to play somewhere in the SEC or just south. I would also be open to schools in ACC and BIG 10. I would love to go somewhere warm for college. I would like to play D1. I would also be open to looking at schools that have good beach volleyball programs as well.

Of COURSE there should be a Yorktown kid on this list, and Lauren is one of the best. Those Tigers are known for their serve receive prowess, and Lauren is no exception. Our MVP of the Freshman Showcase this past July, Lauren is a vocal and physical leader on the court, and is more than capable of working with any combination of players, regardless of skill. Calm in her platform and active with her feet, Lauren’s Munciana training shines through in her ball control, and should be an excellent libero for years to come.
