It is nearly impossible to improve upon what Chloe’s been doing for the last year-plus. Being named libero for Munciana’s Samurai (read: 18-1) and the ONLY sophomore on that roster is the culmination of all of the hard work and preparation she’s put into this game. Already earning All-State honors in her short time at Yorktown, Miss Ritchie is a “coach on the floor”, and directs traffic defensively and in serve receive better than most defenders in any class.

A First-Team All-State honoree for 4A Yorktown will get you on the radar. Repeated emails, texts and phone calls from coaches, players and even OTHER PARENTS about your skill set and the way you carried your program after multiple graduations will get my attention. Chloe is the next major passer coming up the ranks at Libero High School, and you can’t change my mind. This Munciana product is the future of passing in this class, and joins an exceptional cadre of defenders in and around Indiana.

Ritchie is one of those players who could realistically play any position on the court and do it well. She clearly understands the game and has been playing it at a high level for some time now (makes sense considering she is a Yorktown and Munciana kid). Coming in I knew she was an AAU All-American, so I was excited to see what she could do in this environment with new players, and she delivered. Like Hurley, she reads the play on defense really well and stays on her feet most of the time – a skill that is missing in many players this age. Ritchie isn’t okay with just getting a ball up either, she puts it right where it needs to be on every play. She is confident in everything she does and doesn’t seem to get rattled easily during serve receive and game play. Lastly, I love her speed and athleticism – Chloe can cover a TON of court fast and when you pair that with her length, she is going to make a seriously good next level DS come June 15th of 2026.

I first watched Chloe at the Freshman Showcase last summer and she is one of the best freshman defensive players I have seen this year (alongside Cala Haffner Cala Haffner 5'8" | DS/L Carroll | 2028 State IN of Team Pineapple). After spending this past high school season playing every set for state runners up Yorktown HS (the only freshman on varsity), I expect to see Ritchie donning the libero jersey for this stacked Munciana squad. She led the Tigers in aces and aces per set as a freshman and was second in digs and digs per set behind future Texas A&M DS Addi Applegate Addi Applegate 5'5" | DS/L Yorktown | 2025 State #104 Nation IN . Chloe is the real deal, and I am so excited to watch her this club season!
