Watching yesterday seemed like we were watching Rylee Ferrell Rylee Ferrell OH Bauxite | 2028 State AR set Asa Perry Asa Perry 5'8" | S/DS/L Bauxite | 2028 State AR , then turn around and watch Perry set Ferrell. That combination has been one of the things that makes Bauxite so difficult to defend. Both players are capable of running the offense or finishing the point. It’s not often you see two players who can switch responsibilities so easily, but Bauxite has used that versatility to its advantage.

Ferrell has been productive throughout the season, and her regional tournament numbers tell part of the story. She finished with 30 kills, 55 assists, six blocks and 24 digs. That’s a lot of work for one player, especially when she’s being asked to contribute as both a setter and an attacker.

Now the Lady Miners are one win away from playing for a state championship, and they’re doing it on their home court. Harmony Grove knows what Bauxite brings to the table. The two teams met in the 4A South Regional championship, and now they’re facing each other again with a trip to Hot Springs on the line.

Bauxite has plenty of offensive options, but the Ferrell-Perry combination creates some difficult decisions for opposing defenses. You can’t focus on one without giving the other opportunities.

Ferrell has been a big part of getting Bauxite to this point. Her ability to handle multiple roles will be important if the Lady Miners are going to finish the job.

I really like the flexibility Bauxite has with these two. Both can set, both can attack, and neither has to come off the court to make the offense work. Ferrell led the team in assists during the tournament while still putting down 30 kills of her own. Having two players who can produce those kinds of numbers gives opposing defenses plenty to worry about.
