Skyler seems to shadow her ex-teammate Lameen Mambu, which won’t be so bad if she finds her way to Purdue. Both were the primary offensive players for Chantilly, leading them to state playoff runs. Skyler was a sophomore when Lameen was a senior. This weekend Skyler will hit left side for Metro as they battle in the Open Division, the same position Lameen played when she suited up for Metro. This is not the same team that finished third in 17 Open last year. All of their big guns made the decision to leave early for college. This year they will rely on consistent play from a crew of talented back row players.
Skyler has yet to commit.

Skyler carried the unfortunate task of replacing Lameen Mambu as the go to hitter for Chantilly. While that stands out as a huge task in my opinion she handled it well, rising in the rankings from 58 to 36. When set, she did an excellent job of putting the ball away. She led the team in kills and finished third in blocks.
Clearly, she stood out as an impact player from the left side. Most important of all, she showed a lot of improvement from her game as a sophomore. If you compare her stats to what Mambu did as a junior their numbers are comparable. Skyler generated more kills, but Mambu showed more consistency.
Another year of club, another opportunity for improvement. No doubt in my mind Skyler will rise to the top.

A third straight Virginia Juniors player to make our highest climbers group with Skyler moving from 79 to 58. Another player with great athleticism. At our Prep Dig showcase this year she was one of our stand out performers.
Skyler was another player who played a year up with the Virginia Juniors 17 team. She was one of their primary hitters on the left side while also appearing on the roster of the Virginia Juniors 18 team when they played in Junior Nationals.
With Chantilly this year Skyler will replace Lameen Mambu as the top offensive player. Similar to Violet she needs to gain more consistency in finding the court. Last year her hitting percentage was .146 while she finished third on the team in kills. After her improvement in club play expect a major transformation this high school season, especially with her consistency.

Skyler clearly stood out as one of the top hitters in this group. Her immediate presence was felt during hitting lines when her balls exploded off the floor. She also brings good height to the left side at 5’10”
At Chantilly Lameen Mambu saw most of the sets. However, Skyler played opposite Lameen and did her job well. Only a sophomore she lacked the consistency of Lameen. While she ranked third in kills she also finished on top in hitting errors. She did not see a lot of back row play. That should change next year.
With her play at Virginia Juniors her game has improved. She should make more of an impact, including playing more six rotation. Virginia Juniors will play in the American Division at USAV Nationals.

I first noticed her hitting outside for Chantilly this past high school season. While there was some inconsistency in her hitting, for a sophomore she put enough balls down to make herself an offensive presence. When you also consider her other left side was

She also appeared in the Prep Dig showcase. While she missed out on winning a top performer award, she received numerous accolades for her play from the Prep Dig scouts who watched her play.
For club she plays a year up for Virginia Juniors 17. Her play on the left side earned Virginia Juniors a bid to the Junior Nationals. She was a terror on the left side, combining with
