So smooth, Miller had a standout season for Iowa City Liberty and she showed why with her skill at the Top 250 on Sunday. Logan Vogt Logan Vogt 6'1" | RS Waukee Northwest | 2027 IA – Waukee NW – Iowa PowerPlex
Outside Hitter/Right Side
Vogt is at a different level. She is one of the top freshmen in the state and was part of a state championship team at Waukee NW this past fall. Vogt has the length and athleticism to do a little bit of everything. She has a high contact point and can nail a variety of angles. Volleyball isn’t all as she is the third leading scorer on the Waukee NW girls basketball team.
Mavrik Schweer Mavrik Schweer 5'2" | DS/L Mount Vernon | 2027 IA – Mount Vernon – Iowa Rockets
DS/L
Schweer saw time as a DS on the state runner up team for Mount Vernon this fall and was one of the top freshmen liberos in the gym. She is extremely athletic and anticipates well. Aside from her defensive skills, she is an all around player. In the Queens style all around games she could swing, set, do it all. She is a crafty lefty who could really step in and play anywhere to help her side of the net.
Ellie Wilson Ellie Wilson 5'9" | OH Iowa City Liberty | 2027 IA – Iowa City Liberty – Iowa Rockets
OH
These Iowa City athletes definitely stood out, especially early in the all around games. The Quad Cities was well represented with talent this past weekend at the Top 250 Expo. Sweers had a huge season for Pleasant Valley where she was a key point scorer in their run to the Class 5A state semifinals. She has an explosive swing and great hand contact. When she can get in position to terminate she puts a hurt on the ball.
Emma Vanden Hull Emma Vanden Hull 5'7" | S Ankeny Centennial | 2027 IA – Ankeny Centennial – CVA
Setter
I noticed Vanden Hull from the start where she was able to stand out as a setter in the all around games. In a Top 250/Showcase setting it can be tough to connect with hitters because everyone is accustomed to a certain tempo from their own teams. Vanden Hull kept the ball high and allowed her hitters to do the work, she made it easy for them to terminate.
