Let's highlight a few players who do a little of everything.

We've started the long journey of previewing this summer's national championships, but the 2027s still need some representation in our previews. It all starts here.

Athletes are seldom fixed to a single position at the 15s level. This is a great time for players to test the waters at multiple positions and find out which spot suits them best. Many of Nebraska's adaptable 2027s are heading to GJNC, adding to the intrigue of covering this high-stakes event.

Versatile stars are entering the spotlight for this one. Which positions will prevail at GJNC? Stay tuned.

Nebraska Elite 15 Revolution has a handful of players who fit Shaw's malleable mold as a middle-opposite hybrid. This Douglas County West standout showed her versatility back in January as 15 Revolution clinched a 15 Open title at NLQ. Shaw excels behind the setter but can also slide into the middle to offer her physicality in that spot. Regardless of position, 15 Revolution gets a ton of blocking prowess from their do-everything athletes along the net.

Waters remains one of Nebraska's most dynamic 2027s at two different positions. She carried a crucial right-side attacking role during her freshman season at Gretna East, placing Waters on our radar right away. Her 2024 club season has offered more examples of this terminal ability, but that's far from Waters' only contribution to Premier 15 Gold. She can also set the offense in any system that 15 Gold deploys. This makes Waters a true setter-opposite who will embrace any challenge--including the pressure of being a 15 Open frontrunner this summer.

Setter or middle blocker? This is not a question you'd frequently pose on the club volleyball scene, but Sidlo makes her mark in this unique dual role. She burst onto the prep scene with her explosive middle attack that helped Lincoln Lutheran clinch another state title. We were dazzled by Sidlo's physicality and lateral quickness last fall, but that only scratched the surface of her incredible range. Sidlo is now taking on setting duties for [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 15 Elite while also finding her groove as a serving specialist. A bid-earning triumph at MEQ has prepared Sidlo for anything as 15 Elite heads to Vegas.

Multi-position standouts abound for South Central NE 15 Black. This squad had its big breakthrough at the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament as Marsh showed her mature command in the back row. She donned the libero jersey and anchored the defense throughout 15 Black's heroic run in the lower bracket. After all of Marsh's highlight moments in the backcourt, it was easy to forget that she also had a background as an outside hitter with Thayer Central. She earned some starting reps as an attacker in 2023 and could see a six-rotation role next fall. First, though, GJNC beckons.

Here's another middle-opposite hybrid for your list. Vohland's place in the [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 15 Black lineup can shift based on which system the team rolls out. If a 6-2 is the plan, Vohland can become one of the team's leading scorers on the right pin. In other lineups, this Lincoln Northeast standout has displayed her dominance at middle blocker. Midseason qualifiers gave us several examples of how powerful Vohland can be on the quick tempos in front of the setter. Anything goes for Nationals.

Premier 15 Black has no shortage of six-rotation stars on the left side. Hickey will gladly assist her team whether she's hitting in the front row or playing as a DS in the middle-back area. She meshes well with whichever teammates accompany her in the serve receive pattern. 15 Black immediately stole the spotlight with its NLQ championship, where Hickey became a key defender in the back row. And, if Hickey gets her shot in the front row, look out.

Floersch has primarily locked down the middle blocker spot for Premier 15 Red this year. Her length and high contact point make her a scoring threat on any tempo she receives at the net. Perhaps that's why she moved to left-side hitter at the GPR Bid Tournament when 15 Red suddenly needed help at that position. Floersch managed to keep the offense flowing while taking some aggressive swings on the outside. She tooled opposing hands well and showed the kind of finesse you wouldn't normally expect from a middle blocker. This unique experience gives 15 Red another option to explore in the month leading up to GJNC.
