Division High School Playoffs: Are you ready?

<p>With one month of regular season play remaining, the start of the 2024 High School season playoffs is fast approaching. The fire and tense push to the end is about to come full circle. Rivalries, head to head challenges and potential playoff knock-outs are about to ensue. The efforts of each and every team is on display so, it's fitting that we take look at what playoff brackets would look like, "<strong>IF</strong>" the season was to end today and playoffs kicked off. What teams would be in? What teams would be out? What teams are on the verge of making it and what teams may get knocked-out of playoff contention in the next month? Who would you face in the first and/or second round(s)? Will this be what the actual playoff picture looks like come October 28th!</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">As of today, September 30, 2024 (before today's games), here's each divisions bracket based on current league standings!</h2>   <p>The 3A, 4A (State) & 5A playoffs will start on October 28th; 2A begins November 1st and 1A begins November 2nd. With eyes set on the prize of being crowned as the State Champions, each team is competing hard and this last month of the regular season will always bring forward a sense of urgency and propel every team to compete with more intensity than ever before, especially if on the brink. Every team wants a chance at winning it all, but do you have what it takes? Will you be the difference maker? Let's get into what it looks like today... </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">1A Division</h2>   <p>Smith Valley HS is currently looking to repeat as the 1A State Champions, lead by [player_tooltip player_id='582884' first='Ruby' last='DeChambeau'] (OH), but the brackets are stacked with a ton of competition throughout each league. If these teams hold their current rank for the next month, these four brackets will make for an exciting round of play where every team will leave it all on the court.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-image size-medium"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/09/1A_53258e.jpg?w=300" alt="" class="wp-image-695561" /></figure>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">2A Division</h2>   <p>Pershing County of the North currently holds the #1 rank and they'll seek to keep that rank through the next month however the returning Champions of North Tahoe along with the #1 contender from 2023, GV Christian lead by [player_tooltip player_id='544594' first='Ellie' last='Thurman'] (OH) will push to dominate the South bracket if this holds. Both Needles & Awaken Christian lead by the PreDig 2026, #11th ranked dominant OH [player_tooltip player_id='548967' first='Chyanne' last='Robinson'] will not move silently as they are in the position to shock the division. This will make for one tension filled bracket if the #2 & #3 seeds of 2A South face one another on November 2nd!</p>   <figure class="wp-block-image size-medium"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/09/2A_ca3063.jpg?w=300" alt="" class="wp-image-695214" /></figure>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">3A Division</h2>   <p>To say the least, the #1 ranked team in the South, holds as the team expected to repeat as the 3A State Champions and that is The Meadows School! There are a host of players that make an impact on this team, but in their efforts to retain the crown, the 2027 #6 ranked [player_tooltip player_id='543127' first='Piper' last='Kennedy'] (OH) is determined to rise and meet the challenge along with Senior RS hitter [player_tooltip player_id='724012' first='Sydnee' last='Clark'], Senior MB Alena Winkler & Junior Libero Aarti Patel. If the South brackets hold as seen today, Moapa Valley, South Tahoe & Elko are all poised to strike and make their way in the challenge to take it all. Look for this division to make noise in this last month of regular season competition.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-image size-medium"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/09/3A_6fbe82.jpg?w=300" alt="" class="wp-image-696392" /></figure>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">4A Division</h2>   <p>4A is a division where all competing high schools are located in Southern Nevada and this will definitely be a fight to the end. Poised to repeat as 4A State Champions are the Durango Trailblazers lead by Senior OH [player_tooltip player_id='543147' first='Angelina' last='Guerrero'], Senior MB [player_tooltip player_id='543151' first='Jalynn' last='Edwards'], Junior Setter [player_tooltip player_id='590035' first='Aracelli' last='Hernandez'] and the dominance of [player_tooltip player_id='540514' first='Taylor' last='Anderson'] (OH) & [player_tooltip player_id='520116' first='Maya' last='Dominguez'] (OH). If this bracket holds true for the next month, this Trailblazer group will be tasked to defend their title against heavy hitters like Destiny Matthew (MB), [player_tooltip player_id='528278' first='Da'Maia' last='Bryant'] (MB), [player_tooltip player_id='573493' first='Arial' last='Fox'] (OH) & [player_tooltip player_id='544934' first='Miy'Aja' last='Diggs'] (S) of Legacy and potentially SECTA lead by [player_tooltip player_id='567487' first='Luna' last='Ingaramo'] (OH), [player_tooltip player_id='543166' first='Mikaela' last='Fellows'] (OH).</p>   <figure class="wp-block-image size-medium"><img src="https://prepdig.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/09/4A-STATE.jpg?w=257" alt="" class="wp-image-695233" /></figure>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">5A Division</h2>   <p>With Bishop Gorman returning as the 2023 5A State Champions, players such as [player_tooltip player_id='203840' first='Ayanna' last='Watson'] (OH), [player_tooltip player_id='543087' first='Brooklynn' last='Williams'] (MB), [player_tooltip player_id='548011' first='Carsyn' last='Stansberry'] (OH), [player_tooltip player_id='325888' first='Trinity' last='Thompson'] (S), [player_tooltip player_id='528417' first='Aliana' last='Breitling'] (OH) and the rest of the Gaels will look to earn, defend and repeat as Champions. Rest assured, this will not be an easy task, because the brackets can easily change and there are other dominant teams seeking to de-throne last seasons champs. One such teams is the top contender from 2023, the Coronado Cougars who's stacked with extremely talented players such as [player_tooltip player_id='543103' first='Rachel' last='Purser'] (MB), [player_tooltip player_id='550487' first='Julie' last='Beckham'] (OH), [player_tooltip player_id='221014' first='Rachel' last='Schwartz'] (S), [player_tooltip player_id='543091' first='Hannah' last='Wayment'] (MB) & [player_tooltip player_id='525323' first='Gentry' last='Oblad'] (OH) who are determined to make a consecutive appearance in the championship. Reno & Bishop Manogue have set themselves up to make a huge impact not only now, but in the next month of play as they'll seek to contend through the leadership of Senior [player_tooltip player_id='548059' first='Lily' last='Houston'] (MB), [player_tooltip player_id='532710' first='Lily' last='Beckwith'] (OH), [player_tooltip player_id='543090' first='Pamela' last='Jonovic'] (S), [player_tooltip player_id='548058' first='Crystal' last='Pautler'] (MB), [player_tooltip player_id='543102' first='Majken' last='Burtt'] (OH/RS) & [player_tooltip player_id='532706' first='Audrey' last='Sutherland'] (OH). With the Senior leadership of [player_tooltip player_id='543089' first='Willow' last='Watson'], [player_tooltip player_id='548329' first='Madison' last='Garvin'] & [player_tooltip player_id='538431' first='Piper' last='Halvorson'] and effective hitters like [player_tooltip player_id='568149' first='Cameron' last='Reese'] & [player_tooltip player_id='544654' first='Tamara' last='Unga'], Arbor View will also seek to challenge in an intentional way.
