It takes awhile for Zoe to grow on you as a left side. She will not be one of those girls that pounds it to the floor to see how high the ball bounces in front of the ten foot line. Her objective is to mystify her opponents with the location of her hits. She also plays a solid back row which allows her offensive exploits to extend to the back row.

For the Hoppers Zoe ranks second on the team in kills, digs and service aces. She contributes anyway she can. At 6'1" with excellent arm extension her six rotation play has been instrumental in the Hoppers ascension to ranking number one in the DMV.

Earlier in the season Bullis gave Flint Hill their first set loss since 2011. This week Georgetown Day gave the Huskies their first match loss since 2011. In the end it will all come down to the playoffs to determine the Independent School League (ISL) champion. This coming week Bullis plays Georgetown Day and a win by the Bulldogs will throw the race into a three way tie for first.

The match started out well for Flint Hill. An [player_tooltip player_id='181303' first='Isabelle' last='Bardin'] block and two kills gave them a 23-20 lead. [player_tooltip player_id='472234' first='Tessa' last='Fergusson'] responded with a kill to give the Hoppers the serve and down two points. Unfortunately, another Bardin kill followed by a hitting error by Georgetown Day presented the Huskies with a 25-21 set one win.

Set two the Huskies came back from a 15-18 deficit. Two [player_tooltip player_id='181279' first='Kadi' last='Pynchon'] aces and two [player_tooltip player_id='437441' first='Hunter' last='Ross'] kills sandwiched by a [player_tooltip player_id='181303' first='Isabelle' last='Bardin'] kill put Flint Hill ahead 21-20. The Huskies were at set point 24-21 when [player_tooltip player_id='248705' first='Zoe' last='Ryu'] tooled a block on a tight set to keep the Hoppers in the game. Down 24-22 a [player_tooltip player_id='292644' first='Caycee' last='Chhum'] serve appeared to be going out but it was eventually played into an ace. After a time out a Flint Hill hitting error tied the score and another Ryu kill after a great defense play by libero [player_tooltip player_id='326533' first='Shiraz' last='Benyoucef'] put the Hoppers up by one 25-24.

[player_tooltip player_id='292644' first='Caycee' last='Chhum'] missed the next serve deep but Georgetown Day got the serve back with another Fergusson kill in the middle. [player_tooltip player_id='181763' first='Jada' last='Aksu'] fired off one of her team leading 21 kills to make it 27-26 and a [player_tooltip player_id='326533' first='Shiraz' last='Benyoucef'] serve finished it off at 28-26.

After that Flint Hill could not deal with the left arm of [player_tooltip player_id='181763' first='Jada' last='Aksu']. They got behind in the third set 15-4, roared back to make it 10-15 but a hitting error gave the Mighty Hoppers the serve back. Middle [player_tooltip player_id='355124' first='Fiona' last='McDermott'] served the final nine points, including three aces to end the set for a 25-10 victory.

For the final set the closest the Huskies could get was 2-2. [player_tooltip player_id='181763' first='Jada' last='Aksu'] and [player_tooltip player_id='355124' first='Fiona' last='McDermott'] finished it off for a 25-13 win. [player_tooltip player_id='181763' first='Jada' last='Aksu'] finished with 21 kills on only two hitting errors and managed 10 digs while playing back row. [player_tooltip player_id='248705' first='Zoe' last='Ryu'] put together 13 kills and 14 digs. [player_tooltip player_id='292644' first='Caycee' last='Chhum'] weaved together 43 assists while making 12 digs and collecting a team high 12 points with her serve. Now, we await the next big match between Bullis and Georgetown Day.
