The volleyball club scene typically has teams divided by player date of births that begin on July 1 through June 30 of the following year. However, there are some more advanced players that will play up an age division. These players are ones to especially watch as they excel through their club and high school careers. Below are some of the impactful players that we will see in Minnesota this club season, playing up an age division, where they are bound to leave their mark and turn many heads.

[player_tooltip player_id='453086' first='Ellery' last='DeBoer'] is once again playing up an age level and is already turning many heads. Last year as a 15U eligible player, Deboer ran the offense for a very high level 16U team of 2026 players that included some of Minnesota's top recruits such as [player_tooltip player_id='196507' first='Elena' last='Hoecke'], [player_tooltip player_id='199393' first='Sidney' last='Burley'], and [player_tooltip player_id='478380' first='Hayden' last='Reeder']. Why mess with a good thing, right? Deboer will be back again this season, running the show on the 17u court with the same high level players and it will be exciting to watch. As one of the most popular and sought after recruits in the 2027 class, it will also be fun to see who snags her up come June 15.

Champeau preps at Delano where she found much success in her freshman season playing OH where she averaged 2.7 kills/set and 2.7 digs/set. Caitlin is a solid 6 rotation player that takes big swings all over the front court and also out of the back court. Already exposed to considerable high level volleyball, it is not surprising to find her playing up an age division with 16U [program_tooltip program_id='430376' first='Crossfire' last='Volleyball'] this club season. Since she is a 2028 grad, coaches are going to have to wait a bit before they can recruit her but they are sure going to enjoy watching her in the mean time.

Ressler will bring her talents to the 16-2 Northern lights this club season playing up an age division. Added to the 2028 watch list, Ressler is anticipated to have a great club season where she can continue to grow and showcase her attacking skills. Ressler is versatile in that she often takes big, powerful swings out of the middle and the right side. Ressler will be one for coaches and scouts to keep their eyes on.

Barnett is not a newbie to tough competition. As an 8th grader and again as a freshman, Barnett saw considerable playing time on varsity as a setter. This past high school season, Barnett ran the offense for Pine Island deep into the Class AA playoffs. Instead of playing on [program_tooltip program_id='429180' first='Southern' last='Minnesota Volleyball']'s 15-1 team, she will be leading the offense for the their 16-1s. With her high volleyball IQ and skill level, Barnett should have no problems connecting with the powerful and versatile attackers on her team like [player_tooltip player_id='455600' first='Kaydence' last='Fjerstad'] and [player_tooltip player_id='507536' first='Mickele' last='Mutschelknaus']. This team is going to be one to keep close tabs on this club season.
