The first stop of the Tour of Texas was amazing as we had top Open level teams from all over the country come to Houston to compete. We had three scouts in the gym to cover a lot of the amazing play that went on. This weekend is the second stop of the Tour and it will be held in Austin, TX. This stop has some awesome match ups that we are very eager to see. Let's take a look at some of the amazing teams and players to watch out for.

Power Pool #3

The top seed for this pool is TAV 17 Black Haroun who is coming off of a very impressive 5-3 record at stop #1. This team means business and has made a name for themselves early this year. They have some legit college recruits on their roster. Powerful [player_tooltip player_id='328270' first='Paige' last='Hawkinson'], [player_tooltip player_id='452248' first='Reese' last='Poerner'], [player_tooltip player_id='253966' first='Allison' last='Tredwell'], [player_tooltip player_id='530387' first='Caroline' last='Huseman'] and Kyler Birkelback are just a few names to know on this roster. We have seen them in action over the past few years and they can all flat out ball. We will have tons more to report on when we watch their matches and cover the rest of their athletes.

[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last=''] 17 National Black Lind is the second seed. They battled very tough at stop one with a record of 3-4 overall. Five of their matches went to three sets, which tells us that they are not going down without a fight. Do not expect this squad to give up anytime soon. All of these young ladies on this roster have tons of high-level experience that will benefit this team down the stretch. [player_tooltip player_id='498906' first='Hailey' last='Jacobus'], Annie Fulton, [player_tooltip player_id='321088' first='Sloan' last='Reed'], Emma Reeves, and Katelyn Lindsay are just a few of their studs. I fully expect this team to show that they are ready to elevate their game in stop #2.

[program_tooltip program_id='431166' first='Houston' last='Juniors'] 17 Elite is the third seed and they are ready to improve on their 1-6 showing last tourney. With setters like [player_tooltip player_id='268779' first='Zora' last='Bello'] and [player_tooltip player_id='323202' first='Audrey' last='Cook'] running the offense, they will be ready for battle on Saturday. [player_tooltip player_id='269795' first='Gemma' last='Hopkins'] is a super fast and strong libero that commands lots of attention from opposing coaches. They must know where she is on the court when calling serves to certain zones. [player_tooltip player_id='326514' first='Emma' last='Elsasser'], Amay Love, and [player_tooltip player_id='226814' first='Jasmyn' last='Walker'] can all get up and over the net well when blocking. Superstar right side [player_tooltip player_id='269826' first='Sarah' last='Hickman'] always brings the heat for this squad. The talented lefty has a lot of help on this roster. [player_tooltip player_id='254092' first='Callie' last='Funk'], [player_tooltip player_id='220966' first='Kiran' last='Rio'] and [player_tooltip player_id='605192' first='Kaylee' last='Parker'] are just a few of her teammates that you need to watch out for.

AVA 17 Adidas is the fourth seed and they are ready to prove that they belong on the big stage. They had a tough outing at stop number one going 0-7 in power pool number three, however almost every team they faced did make the Open division at nationals last season. Despite their tough draw, they never gave up and showed flashes of brilliance. Together at the net, right side Gabrielle St. Louis and middle Kaycee Pennie put up a solid block against opposing left sides. Left side attacker Kadia Jackson provides a very heavy arm whether she is in the front row or the back row. They look to her often to swing away and score points as she is a integral part of their offense. Big right side Jakayla Collins also bring some added firepower to this offense at the opposite position. She takes some big rips at the ball and keeps them ultra aggressive. If this team can improve their passing a little, they will have a shot to surprise a lot of teams. We will have more on them as the tourney concludes so stay tuned.
