These come at no surprise as DSHA will be the team to chase all season. They defeated Arrowhead in the finals of the Joust at Homestead last weekend. They lost key players who are now playing for big time collegiate programs, but they reload. The Dashers will be extremely balanced and their youth movement is impressive. Sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='545505' first='Tegan' last='Loechler'] and [player_tooltip player_id='587062' first='Harper' last='Wendlick'] have combined for 100 kills so far while freshman [player_tooltip player_id='808030' first='Maia' last='Kerry'] is averaging 2.4 kills per set. Brookfield East is making a push after a big week where [player_tooltip player_id='809936' first='Maggie' last='Czajka'] is hitting nearly .400 out of the middle, averaging over three kills per set. Oconomowoc took home the Crusader Cup while River Falls is off to a hot start where they won the UW-Stout Sprawl.

Catholic Memorial finished on top last year and starts the year at number one where they took on a challenging Joust event where they lost twice to Kimberly and once to Oak Creek and DSHA. However, this week they defeated Arrowhead to kick off conference play. [player_tooltip player_id='807953' first='Isabella' last='Webber'] and [player_tooltip player_id='435874' first='Addison' last='Kelenic'] are leading the Crusaders, but watch for upstart sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='760823' first='Grace' last='Parker']. Xavier is back in D2 after spending last season in D1. They dropped two matches at the Joust coming to the hands of DSHA and Waukesha West and found their groove on day two. Mosinee is off to a blistering start where they have 14 matches under their belt with their only loss coming to Holmen in the final of Beast of the Northeast in Appleton.

Dominican is fast out of the gates in D3 with a 9-0 record where they have four attackers who are averaging at least two kills per set with [player_tooltip player_id='828488' first='Marlee' last='Hills'], Ava Stelter, Analisa Schweisthal, and [player_tooltip player_id='556658' first='Gretchen' last='LaPean']. Living World Lutheran took home the Sun Prairie East tournament title where they took down D1 opponents in Manitowoc Lincoln and Watertown. [player_tooltip player_id='388457' first='Eden' last='Roethel'] has been dominant to start her senior year where she is averaging five kills per set, hitting .384, and has nearly 30 total blocks in one week of play. Stanley-Boyd is off to a fast start where their only loss has come to D1 undefeated River Falls. There are two defending state champions in D3 with Barron who sits at 5-2 and Manitowoc Lutheran who is also 5-2 and has moved up from D4.

Heritage Christian has really beefed up their schedule and has found winning ways through a rugged opening week where they have eight wins over D1 schools, including a 3-2 win over Mukwonago. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='284071' first='Chelsea' last='Poskocil'] leads the team with 3.5 kills per set while the Patriots have quite the quarterback in setter [player_tooltip player_id='284066' first='Ainsley' last='Ellis']. Ellis has over 100 assists on the year so far and is committed to Illinois Wesleyan. Sheboygan Christian has bumped up from D5 and will be one to watch this season. [player_tooltip player_id='249670' first='Lydia' last='Neeb'] runs an efficient offense that has five attackers making an impact. Libero, [player_tooltip player_id='726408' first='Sofia' last='Rodriguez'] is covering the court by having 4.5 digs perset. Western Wisconsin will be interesting to monitor with McDonell Central, Regis, Columbus Catholic, and Edgar that will see each other throughout the season.

There are plenty of familiar names in this D5 top ten and Eau Claire Immanuel Lutheran is number one without playing any matches in the first week. However, they are the defending state champions and return top attacker in Gabi Radichel who averaged nearly five kills per set in 2024. NEW Lutheran is building off a strong 2024 campaign where they have a balanced squad that has no seniors on the roster. Newman Catholic will always be in the hunt with their tradition. They collected some big wins over larger schools in Wausau West, Kewaskum, and Marshfield. All State attacker [player_tooltip player_id='284085' first='Camille' last='Sobolewski'] is off to a fast start averaging over four kills per set.
