Camille Day spent her 13u season as a middle, which meant out-of-system hitting simply wasn’t part of her game yet. This year, playing outside, she’s had to build that skill from scratch, putting in the reps to develop timing and control when the pass isn’t perfect. She credits a simple sequencing cue, going slow to fast, along with clean hand contact and swinging with purpose to the corners, for the progress she’s made.
Camille’s in-system hitting was already a strength, and she points to finding good timing and contact during 6v6 as the moment her confidence and connection with her new UA Next teammates really clicked. But it’s the out-of-system growth that shows she’s building a complete offensive game rather than leaning on one strength. Heading into high school as an outside, she’s already looking at the other half of the position, working on reading the defense and getting into position to cover, the kind of two-way commitment college staffs notice.

‘s reflection centered around composure.
After advancing through multiple rounds in the Offensive Sniper competition, she found herself trailing late and believing the event might already be over. Instead of panicking, she stayed calm long enough to deliver what she described as a “buzzer beater” winning hit in the final seconds.
That type of emotional control matters, especially for young pin hitters learning how to stay aggressive under pressure.
Camille talked extensively about how much CPA’s detail-oriented coaching has impacted her growth over the last several months. Breaking down fundamentals, rebuilding mechanics, and being held to a high standard all seem to be shaping the type of player she is becoming.
Her summer schedule reflects that same work ethic. UA Next, multiple PrepDig showcases, the Mater Dei incoming freshman camp, private training, and recovery-focused routines are all part of how she is approaching the next phase of her development.
Away from volleyball, leadership appears to be a major part of her identity too. Camille shared that she participates in multiple school organizations, serves as Vice President of Kindness Crew, and holds herself to high academic standards while continuing to prioritize family and personal growth.
