Expert Analysis

Michelle Bamford

Prep Dig Lead Scout

Stella McKinney wants coaches to notice her energy, her positive presence, and her confidence on the court at Mater Dei. As a taller freshman, a small technical adjustment, a hop before digging, has made her quicker to react to balls, especially ones she has to dive for. During her freshman season, McKinney has enjoyed tournaments and home games, and she’s motivated most by her teammates. Her goal is to be a big presence on the court during a season playing alongside older girls, and she’s set her sights on a Division I program with strong academics.

Stella McKinney named Top Performing Right Side at 7/31/26 SoCal Freshman Showcase, Irvine, Ca.

Stella McKinney was one of the showcase’s more physical attackers. She consistently hit the ball hard and drove her attacks downward, making her difficult to defend and creating several high-quality offensive opportunities.
