While many are away in Dallas, Kansas City, Vegas, and other tournaments, we are excited to cover the big local tournament happening all over the valley this weekend and discover some new standouts along the way. From the big stage at the Cardinals stadium to out-of-state matchups and heated rivalries, there's no shortage of exciting volleyball right here at home — and we can't wait to cover the action.

14s Open Division

Omni 14N1 is taking the #1 spot heading in to the tournament. We've seen incredible performances from [player_tooltip player_id='938260' first='Brooklyn' last='Noah'] and [player_tooltip player_id='789370' first='Layla' last='Duncan'] as two of this team's lethal attackers. Their setter, Bailey Viall, has been injured but is making her comeback in this tournament, and we look forward to seeing her give it all she's got.

We're also especially excited for the all-Arizona pool featuring EVJ 14 Elite, Aspire 14 Alpha, Rev 14 Elite, and Ascent 14 Black. We also are looking forward to a match up against Atomic 14 Smack Elite and Storm 14 Lightning. This group is loaded with young talent from the Class of 2030. We can't wait to see it all unfold.

15/16 Open Division

Livewire 16 Prime sits firmly in the top spot of the Open Division — exactly where their season has shown they belong. They've built that position through consistent, high-level play on both sides of the ball. [player_tooltip player_id='888725' first='London' last='Clark'] and [player_tooltip player_id='733200' first='Kyah' last='Anderson'] keep constant offensive pressure on opponents, scoring efficiently in system and still finding ways to terminate when rallies get chaotic. Defensively, [player_tooltip player_id='888726' first='Carsen' last='Steinkamp'] and [player_tooltip player_id='937058' first='Grace' last='Pease'] provide the balance every elite team needs, controlling the backcourt with disciplined reads, clean touches, and steady composure that keeps their team in rhythm.

With proven production and a resume full of success already this season, Livewire enters the weekend looking to reinforce their position at the top.

They'll be tested immediately in a competitive pool featuring Omni 16N1, Aspire 16 Premier, and Ascent 16 Black — a group capable of creating some tight, high-energy matchups. Another intriguing cluster includes Boltz 16U Desert Aces alongside Aspire 15 Premier and Omni 16N2, setting up a pool with plenty of potential shake-ups. Along with Rev 15 Elite vs AZ Outlaws 16 Elite.

With no Open division offered for the older age groups this weekend, our attention shifts to the 17/18 Club Division — and it brings a strong blend of local talent and traveling competition. An out-of-state team currently holds the top seed, but right behind them sits one of the valley's most respected and well-coached squads: Atomic 17 Smack Premier.

The roster is loaded with impact players. [player_tooltip player_id='882559' first='Sami' last='Mondino'] has been a consistent six-rotation weapon all season, producing offense while remaining steady in serve receive. [player_tooltip player_id='877239' first='Shia' last='Chancellor'] continues to stand out with her advanced game IQ and ability to make smart decisions in live play. New to our radar, 2028 setter [player_tooltip player_id='945920' first='Layla' last='Bruhn'] has done an impressive job running the offense, controlling tempo and keeping hitters in rhythm.
