The Kennewick libero is playing with focus and decisively cuts off a ball she can make a play on. Raines plays low to the ground, and with quick feet, she is tough to score on with any type of tip or setter dump. In a match versus CVVC 18, she put together a string of plays: a one-handed stab for a dig, a tough tip cover that definitely left a bruise, then a sprawling dig that ended up falling for a libero kill on the other side of the net.

The Noolsack Valley prospect is continuing her strong play in a breakout club season. De Lange has excellent size, runs the slide, and is aggressively challenging balls at the net. The 6'2" middle is one to watch, and her Apex NW U18 Summit team could find themselves in the USA Division Gold Bracket at PNQ after a 2-1 record on day one.

Playing up with Space Needle 18s, Mossburg is punishing servers with quality receptions from her libero spot. The junior from Glacier Peak is highly accurate with her platform when she digs out a swing or runs down a shot; Mossburg delivers the ball at the right height for her team to run a high-quality transition attack. Mossburg and her team played with high confidence and effort on day two of PNQ, posting a 3-0 record.

Jacobsen recently committed to Jessup University in California. The 2026 from Ferris High School has her Club South 18 Black on a roll this season; the team has consistently added pieces around a strong core group and battled to a sterling 2nd-place finish at the Festival Fiesta Classic in Phoenix. Jacobson is a terrific defender, and her footwork is consistent- most importantly, she plays with a great attitude and sets a hittable ball.

McGregor is playing as a six-rotation attacker for Excel NW 18 Lux, and she has the toolbox to score effectively. She will toss hard off hands for a kill, then follow it up with a hard swing to the angle or down the line. Lux moves her around and will run her down the middle out of serve receive- the Kelso stand out looks comfortable working around the block and finding open spaces for kills.

The Athena 18 Gold match against NPJ 18 Forefront showcased some of the best talent in Oregon, and both teams also feature Washington stars in critical roles. The six-rotation OH1's for both teams are Washington stars- the Athena squad out of Portland has Camas senior [player_tooltip player_id='450701' first='Gabriella' last='Thompson'] (U. of Miami) on the pin, Forefront countered with [player_tooltip player_id='231549' first='Laura' last='Eichert'] (U. of Oregon) from Lake Stevens. These are the two top-ranked prospects for the class of 2026 out of Washington. We were impressed by the play of the middles on both sides of the net, in particular [player_tooltip player_id='267165' first='Hayley' last='Schaaf'] (Northwestern) for Athena and [player_tooltip player_id='335612' first='Lauryn' last='Coleman'] (Santa Clara) and [player_tooltip player_id='290227' first='Shaylee' last='Stephen'] (U. of Portland) for NPJ. [player_tooltip player_id='243689' first='Selana' last='Morales'] (2026 uncommitted) is a steady, strong blocker and attacker playing right side for Athena, and the top-ranked 2026 libero out of Washington, [player_tooltip player_id='251026' first='Kaitlyn' last='Nguyen'] (U. of Washington), is an excellent, polished defensive gem. NPJ Forefront has [player_tooltip player_id='434980' first='Margaret' last='Foote'] (2027 Gonzaga) and [player_tooltip player_id='403351' first='Quinn' last='Pedersen'] (2026 uncommitted, Camas) in the fold as well.

The top two PNW 18U teams will face off for the second time this season in the Open Gold bracket at PNQ Sunday. Both teams have already captured 18 Open Bids to the USAV GJNC. CPA 18 Benson (Spokane) and NPJ 18 Forefront (Salem) have teams built with players from multiple states, and from well beyond a comfortable driving distance. Rosters: CPA- 12 players (7 WA, 3 ID, 2 MT), NPJ- 13 players (7 OR, 6 WA). In the Pacific Northwest, building a consistently competitive Open-level team will almost always require this approach. Consistent, competitive, and Open-level are the key words- there will always be a one-off exception, but staying relevant at the Open level from the Upper Left requires a different approach.
