She’s an intelligent and well-rounded setter, who can contribute both at the net and on the backcourt. As a playmaker, Srubar stands out for her consistency and reliability, which allow her to make great decisions with her distribution and keep the team’s offense running smoothly even in difficult moments. She also adds a lot on the backcourt, serving with great efficiency and consistently coming up with big defensive plays. Srubar does solid work at the net too, using her length to provide a solid blocking presence and even taking on hitting duties with great efficiency when needed.

Srubar only played the three backcourt rotations, but was able to make an impact every time she came in. The junior setter kept the team’s offense running smoothly, distributing the ball well and being extremely precise with her locations. Srubar also contributed with her tough serves, getting Waller out of system and making things easier for the Mustangs. She was particularly important the first time she was subbed in as she helped Cy Ranch come back from a four-point deficit early on with a long serving run and some efficient defense.

sidelined, Srubar was inserted into the lineup and did a very good job running the team’s offense. She displayed great chemistry with her hitters, using all of them and moving them around whenever possible in combination plays to give them the best chance to score. Srubar was very aggressive and confident with her setter dumps, using them fairly often and even in key moments of sets. She also had some good serving runs and brought the third set to an end with a clutch ace.

Srubar was the setter of the Texas Tornados 16 Adidas team that ranked third in the FAST Pre Nationals with four wins and two losses. Splitting her time between setting and hitting duties, she also contributed with her passing and defense and was possibly the team’s most important player over the weekend because of how she helped in different areas of the game. Srubar played her role as a setter with great efficiency, remaining calm at all times and doing a great job with her distribution. Her offensive game has been growing a lot and she was very explosive and effective hitting from the right and the left.

Srubar and her Texas Tornados 16 Adidas teammates were fifth on Saturday with two wins and one loss. The setter was one of the key pieces of the team with her ability to contribute in different areas of the game. Srubar was excellent with her playmaking, keeping the team in a good flow and dealing well with passes off the net. A tall and physical setter, she took up hitting duties when at the net, showing interesting firepower, and also contributed with her passing on some rotations.

Since then, she’s been able to earn playing time with a Cypress Ranch team that was one of the best in the region and that speaks volumes about her progress over the last few months. Srubar’s game is heavily based on her excellent technical skills and that makes of her a very complete and versatile player. She’s precise and reliable as a setter, powerful and intelligent when hitting on the right and very calm and productive when playing defense. That gives her the ability to help teams in a variety of ways and makes of her a valuable asset to any squad.

Versatility is always an important asset and although several prospects played multiple positions during the event, very few did so with the same efficiency she did. Primarily a setter, she displayed great court awareness, good decision-making and was always precise and consistent with her distribution. She played as a right side hitter in some drills too and impressed with a very interesting offensive game. Srubar gets off the floor well, does a very good job of increasing her reach by swinging with a fully-stretched arm and hits the ball with a lot of power.
