Pierce helped her team Cy Ranch finish first in the tournament with an undefeated campaign of seven losses. The senior was somewhat of an utility player for them, being used in different positions and contributing in each of them with her solid skill set. Pierce was very imapctul at the net, coming off the bench to help her team side out in moments of pressure. She used her physical tools very well at the net, but also displayed excellent awareness and vision to score off tips or by tooling the block. The right side hitter also offered a strong blocking presence, putting opponents under pressure at the net.

Pierce has attended some of our showcases in the past and always left a strong impression, so I’m looking forward to watching her again. A right side hitter, she built her offense around her physical tools, but has been able to add new elements to it over the years. Pierce can beat blockers and defenders with pure power, but now is also able to score off of roll shots and tips and has been getting better and better at limiting her errors in difficult situations. She also has a solid blocking presence at the net and continues to improve her ball control.

Pierce was one of the standouts of our Stock Up Showcase last summer and it was nice to see her game taking new steps forward after just a few months. She’s a well-versed offensive player, who had the size and power to put the ball down against anyone. On Sunday, I saw Pierce have an excellent offensive performance, using her physical tools well, but also picking her shots in a very efficient and productive way. She also displayed progress with her ball control and in terms of being more consistent.

Still a freshman, Pierce was one of the top right side hitters to appear in our event. She did well in the attacking drills and was even better in the match-like ones, where she displayed an interesting ability to adjust to different sets. Pierce is tall, very athletic and gets off the floor extremely well, but there’s a lot of vision and understanding of the game in her offense too as she made very good decisions, showed some great resources and was very consistent with her offensive efficiency. Blocking is another strength in her game as she can go up really high up at the net and always has her arms in a good spot, taking over space from opposing hitters.
