The senior was a force in the middle and offered the Lady Mustangs a very strong presence at the net. Carr was much taller than Klein Cain’s middles and she made the most of it to have a strong offensive performance, making contact with the ball at a very high point and swinging with power and efficiency. She also made an impact with her blocking, moving well at the net, and getting to the pin on time to get in the way of opposing hitters. Carr handled overpasses with great efficiency, and that helped Cy Ranch come back after having a slow start in set three, as she scored some easy points this way.

Carr will be with Houston Skyline 17 Black in Kansas City as the team competes in the 17 USA division. She’s an extremely physical middle, who has all the tools to challenge anyone at the net with her power and range. Carr is extremely valuable on the defensive side of the game as she provides her team with a massive blocking presence that makes the lives of defenders playing behind her much easier. Over the last couple of years, she started reading the game better and that further potentialized her blocking effectiveness. Carr, who can also play on the right, also does a good job offensively, benefiting from her high contact point to overcome opposing blockers and score points.

I first saw Carr about eight months ago, in another of our showcases, and can probably say she’s one of the players in the Houston area who improved the most in the period. Her physical tools continue to be a big part of her game (and they will always be), but it’s easy to notice how she improved mentally, both in terms of understanding the game better and just becoming stronger. Carr’s offense is also much more effective, combining reach, power and good variation, and her blocking is developing into a scary weapon.

Since she didn’t play during the high school season, Carr was the talk in the gym in one of our Prep Dig Top 250 Expos in Houston as everyone wanted to know who was that big middle that was dominating her court. Her physicality is really a difference-maker in her game and not many players combine size, power and mobility in such a great way as Carr does. The fact that she earned significant playing time in a loaded TAV Houston 15 Adidas teams speaks volumes about her game. The Cy Ranch prospect has developed a lot during the club season, adding better understanding and decision-making to her solid blocking instincts and displaying impressive progress in her offense, both in terms of variation and efficiency.

Carr emerged as somewhat of a hidden gem as of late. She had to sit out the entire high school season, but started club on fire, making a huge impression in our Prep Dig Top 250 Expo in Houston. She has been able to maintain a solid level of play since then and has established herself as one of the most intriguing freshmen middles in the area. Although there’s still a lot of room for improvement in her game, Carr is already very impactful with her blocking, combining her excellent athleticism with very good hand positioning. She’s also making great strides with her offense and becoming a reliable scoring option. She will be with TAV Houston 15 Adidas in the 15 Open division.

Since she didn’t play in the last high school season, Carr was one of the nicest surprises of our Top 250 Expo. Her physical tools are truly impressive as she’s not only tall, but also very strong and coordinated. She moves well on the court and does an excellent job when it comes to adding an extra portion of power to her swings with her explosive approach. Carr displayed excellent blocking hands and dominated court 6 all day. She’s also a very good server.
