Barnett came through with a lot of big kills in the fifth game. She had two in a row to put the Rockets up 14-8. Barnett made the necessary adjustments at the net to help Assumption pull through. She stays positive all the time keeping the team up through the tough moments.

Barnett is one of many hitters capable of putting up double-digit kills on a regular basis for the Rockets. Barnett goes up from the pin and smacks it hard to the back row and different places. If she sees an opening, she’ll tap it there. She puts incredible force into balls from both pins making balls hard to dig up. When overpasses come, Barnett sends them to the floor. Barnett leads the Rockets with 204 kills on the season.

Barnett brings diversity to the Rockets and KIVA 17 Red squads. Her strong side shot is tough because she pounds balls to various open spots on the floor including the front middle. She can tip balls to far corners if they’re open. Barnett has good form on her blocks and can tip them in the air to defensive specialists to keep plays alive. Barnett helped Assumption to a 36-5 record and the state-best 23rd state championship in the fall with 291 kills to go with 43 blocks and 103 digs.

Barnett should be seeing some scholarship offers before long because she brings a diverse skill set to the table. Barnett is especially tough from the left side smoking balls to open places including the front middle. Barnett is not afraid to tip balls to the far corners if she feels that’s where balls will drop. Barnett has good follow-throughs on her blocks and gets balls in the air so teammates can make plays on them. She also showed she is very coachable in the Bluegrass Tournament. Barnett helped Assumption to a 36-5 record and state championship in the fall landing 291 kills to go with 43 blocks and 103 digs.

Barnett reads the opponent’s defense accurately and provides a solid all-around skill set in the front row. Comfortable hitting from both the front row and the back row, Barnett is a talented hitter.
