We go from one bid earner to another. Gigstead’s stock has exploded after Premier Nebraska 16 Gold’s trek to an Open bid at Indy’s Mideast Qualifier. The Papio South sophomore patrolled the middle for 16 Gold and was a sure bet to score in one-on-one situations. Gigstead also revealed her incredible defensive prowess while closing blocks from pin to pin. We’re eager to reunite with River City Jrs 15 Navy after seeing the team compete at several early Midwest Power Leagues. Gigstead was a persistent force at those regional venues and could score from anywhere along the net. The Papio South product can also work with various tempos, allowing 15 Navy to keep one of their star attackers in a good rhythm.

We have plenty of watch list additions lurking on the River City Jrs 15 Navy roster. Gigstead is one of those up-and-coming athletes who has established herself as a go-to attacker for 15 Navy. Her sharp crosscourt shots on the left side have been particularly deadly, but Gigstead can also mix up locations to keep opposing defenses off-balance. We’ve seen this Papio South freshman incorporate some solid backcourt work into her repertoire, too. Depth is already building in River City Jrs ‘ 15s camp.
