Two of the top five players play a dual role: Colby Bellerive Colby Bellerive 5'6" | DS/L Emerald Ridge | 2026 State WA is a terrific setter, and Charlize Espinosa Charlize Espinosa 5'8" | DS/L Liberty | 2026 State WA can attack from either pin in between passing dimes. Maia Sidhu Maia Sidhu 5'6" | DS/L TBCS | 2026 State WA was her high school team’s offensive player of the year. Pound for pound, liberos are often the best athletes on the court; it’s one position where speed, quickness, and reaction time can sometimes directly transfer to performance. Passing can be taught, and positioning can be learned, but a player with the best foot speed on the court will run down more balls than one stuck in first gear. Here is an in-depth look at the Top 7 in the class of 2026 Rankings.

Continue ReadingNguyen keeps getting better, honing her passing and defense to an ultra-high level. Her SIVBC 16 team has played a challenging national schedule, allowing her to compete against high-major level attackers. She is steady sitting in the pocket and giving her setters digs to run transition offense with, and is reading tips and rolls with precision. Her digs on off-speed shots at times look routine due to her high volleyball IQ.
The Oly Reign libero is a consistently effective passer in serve receive, and handles more than her share of the back row. Durham has done her work to help Oly Reign to a great start this season, playing and winning in the competitive PSR Power League and finishing third overall at the Colorado Crossroads tournament. The defender from River Ridge High School has continued to play with great energy and grit in the back row.
Highlights
Bellerive has been playing lights out as a setter for her Puyallup Juniors team, she is making great decisions finding her attackers and is confident in moving the ball around. It’s possible she may find setter as her ultimate position, if not, she is a dynamite defender who would fit as a high level libero/ds. Having her on the court as a setter just gives PJVBC more defense, she has super foot speed and runs down tips and second balls easily.
Highlights
Espinosa has been doing a bit of everything for her SIVBC team, and she does it all with a smooth confidence and solid execution. If we focus on the libero aspect of her game, she has excellent angles in serve receive, her length and quickness allow her to reach balls that others don’t, and she can push through and make the dig on a rocket that is headed for the floor. She gives Sudden Impact a little more though; she can rip a swing from the pipe, set with her hands to the pins and her serve has been giving opponents big problems this season.
Highlights
Livingston is a technically sound 5’5 defender from Ridgeline High School playing for CPA 16 Benson this club season. She is quick in space and makes great use of her platform, angling to deliver the ball accurately to her setter on tough, deep serves. Livingston will get a solid read on a top or roll and gobble it up with her quick feet, and has a good feel for swings and serves that are headed out.
Highlights
It’s something when three liberos on the same team dot the top 10 at a position, that is what SIVBC has with Sidhu in the fold along with Espinoza and Nguyen. Sidhu has similar length to Espinoza, giving her the extra reach that many libero’s don’t possess. She is highly effective in serve receive, taking great angle with her platform and cushioning serves with pace to keep her setters out of the net. A small school player from The Bear Creek School, Sidhu is a multi-sport athlete who excelled offensively and defensively during the fall high school season.
Highlights
Strom plays gritty defense, she never gives up on a ball and has excellent reactions with her hands. She will pop up what seem to be sure blocks when she covers, and can reach out one arm and make a highlight dig on a hard swing. Strom is playing up for PSVBA 17 Elite during club, testing herself against older attackers. The Silas High sophomore has a blue-collar attitude on the court and nobody out works her.
