The state's Dominant Five in Notre Dame, St. Henry along with Louisville powers Assumption, Sacred Heart and Mercy are well represented again, but there is talent throughout the state as participation numbers in the sport are at all-time highs. A number of club options has also helped on that front. The top of the list begins with North Laurel sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='603744' first='Reagan' last='Isaac'] and Paintsville sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='253875' first='Kylie' last='Kinner'] because they were the only two sophomores to make any of the three Kentucky Volleyball Coaches Association All-State lists in the Second team.

Isaac (pictured) earned the top spot because of her versatility. Isaac is a solid all-around player that found a spot on the top-notch KiVA 16 Red squad. Isaac can hit the ball from all six spots making opponents defend every square inch of the court. Isaac also contributes in blocking, defense and serving. She also takes criticism well. Isaac got pulled during a game Saturday. Instead of turning to anger, Isaac patiently waited to go back in and bettered the ball on her next attempt. She's working on hitting the tough angle shot from the strong left corner of the net to near the other shallow corner. Isaac has already eclipsed 1,000 kills for her career with 1,109. She had 432 kills, 192 digs and 67 aces in the fall to help North Laurel win a third consecutive 49th District Tournament title.

Kinner grew up in the gym, going to watch her mom coach the Tigers, who has been the head coach since 2010. Kinner put in the work to make an impact when she was old enough to play varsity in the seventh grade. She played a big role in Paintsville's 15th Region title as an eighth grader with 253 kills, seeing her first state tournament action in addition to helping Paintsville win the All "A" State championship. Kinner's defense and serving has really taken off since she entered high school. Kinner makes clean passes then quickly transitions to offense taking big swings to put balls down. She is also a positive influence for her teammates. Kinner has eclipsed the 1,500 mark for career kills with 1,557. Kinner had 656 kills, 280 digs and 69 aces, helping Paintsville go 26-12, win the 57th District and 15th Region crowns. She then helped take Paintsville win the first state tournament game in school history before losing to Scott in the state quarterfinals.

Anthony appeared poised for a huge season during club last spring and did just that. She'll receive more than her fair share of spike attempts during club season playing with Isaac on the loaded KiVA 16 red squad as a lefty. She adjusts well to setters and smacks balls down at different angles. Anthony also uses her size and athleticism well to time blocks. Anthony is also a sound passer. Anthony had 284 kills, 57 solo blocks, 41 assisted blocks, 371 digs and 46 aces to help the Mustangs go 28-10 and win 29th District and 8th Region championships.

Kondik has the size to make a difference and takes full advantage of it. Kondik makes things happen from all six spots on the court. She is aggressive on every play. Her approach to the net is nearly 10 feet off the ground and her block reaches nine feet, four inches. Kondik had 185 kills for the Pandas last season and those numbers will continue to grow with Kondik playing for the top-notch NKYVC 16-1 Tsunami squad. Kondik helped the Pandas go 34-4 and make it to the state semifinals.

Hall did a great job taking over the vital setter position for the Knights and helped lead them to the first 11th Region Tournament championship in school history. Her instincts on the court help teams out in more ways than one. She reads opposing defenses then place balls where they need to go so hitters can put them down. She executes a variety of long and short sets and even throws in setter dumps to surprise opponents. Hall is superb on defense, going hard after balls to inspire her teammates. Hall had 834 assists, 231 digs and 35 aces for Lexington Catholic this past season.

Hooe might have started as a freshman at other places, but had to wait for her turn for the state power Rockets. Hooe burst onto the scene as an option for Assumption and helped the Rockets win their 24th state championship. She pounds balls hard on one play then goes soft on the next one keeping defenders on their toes. Hooe makes things happen at the net with great timing on her blocks. Hooe recorded 156 kills, 20 solo and 48 assisted blocks for Assumption this past fall.
